Welp. My oldest computer's hard drive finally gave up the ghost today. · 11:35pm Jun 20th, 2017
I know that I probably am a bit too obsessed with that machine, but after several months of trying and failing to successfully clone the drive to a more reliable medium, all I’m left with is a highly repetitive clicking noise, and a boot failure.
At least it’s not the original original drive. The one that just died is an 80 gig IBM Deskstar drive, while the original was a 1.5 gig Western Digital that still chugs along nicely. The reason why I was using the dead drive before was because I knew that Windows XP and several other programs would quickly eat up the available space.
Either way, I’m gonna get an SD to IDE adapter, install Windows XP onto a decently sized SD card, and try again.
