(I like to picture that scene as either me transforming the characters from things I loathe to things I can remotely tolerate... or myself using the machine to enforce brainwaves to keep to the way I think)
In regards of my Friendship is Failure 6: Pride and Punishment...
Talon-Ted (Like me) he wanted to prove to the world that you don't NEED to go to school, uphold a simple job, taking acting lessons and all that waste of time stuff to be an actor. That you can become one simply by teaching yourself, and that all you really need is a chance.
Getting a Degree and taking lessons may INCREASED your chances, or IMPROVE the odds of you getting a job...
...I DON'T CARE.
You don't do it means, YOU DON'T DO IT, period!
-Do not take professional lessons... Period
-Do not go to college... Period
-Do not get a degree... Period
-Do not get a simple job... Period
He/I is/am supposed to become an actor WITHOUT having to do all that (and it is possible... I've been in a movie before, just a patron, but I still was in it, and I got paid for it)
Since Talon did what his sister and others suggested, and DID all of the above, his pride has been sullied, and he can no longer prove to people that you don't need to do all that stuff.
By all means, he has NO RIGHT and NO PRIVILEGE to become and actor now (I/he forbid(s) it. He doesn't deserve to be an actor for breaking the rules) I don't care what potential is being wasted, I don't care what opportunities you are passing up... I especially don't care how happy it would make other people feel!

I don't care what his Cutiemark is... IT'S JUST A DAMN PICTURE, it doesn't mean you HAVE TO do as it says.
You violated the rules... you went against your pride... therefore, as punishment (and to keep the pride)
-Do not become an actor... Period
-Someone offers you a great job, great pay... REJECTED Period.
-Don't even start your own acting agency.
No being an actor means NO BEING AN ACTOR... Period!
Agent: "If you'll please listen, Princess Celestia specially requested that you star in the play she's written. She promises you great compensation. Won't you at least think about it?"
Me/Talon: "No! Give the princess my regards, and tell her to go to the devil!"
Agent: "Please... if you'll just..."
Me/Talon: "NO!!" *Slams desk* ...and that... is... final."
Talon (Just like I would) Decided he wanted nothing to do with the acting industry, and settled for his low-paid boring job (In his case, the toll booth) and I myself got a job I'd just stay there.
-Do not quit find a new job (Unless fired)
-Do not seek a new dream Period (No matter what talents or potential or even what good you could do... DON'T DO IT, period)
Just go to work, then go home at the end of the day, end of story.
If Talon had actually accepted any offers while having his degree (Without proving his pride) He would have become the very thing he was scoffing at. People would laugh at him, talk about him behind his back (They should) and above all he would still not be happy, nor would he care about what fans and well wishers think.
He doesn't have his pride! Therefore, (to me) He's nothing but a pathetic, spineless, undeserving pushover, who lets other people tell him how to life his life and walk all over him, and not standing up for his rights and his pride. (I ought to punish him more myself... if he tries to move on, or take something I forbid... I'll stop him. He is my character; he answers to me!)
He only accepted roles at last because HE WAS successfully able to prove his pride (that you don't need all the fancy stuff to get a job, and that people should give others a CHANCE... they may be surprised)
Same things applies to Beast Boy, Davis or other characters (Only with shipping) They lose the girl, they deserve to be treated THAT badly (a punishment for letting me down)
You don't move on! You don't pick yourself up and try again! You don't go looking for a positive side of things!

In real life, I wouldn't hurt someone, nor try to mess up their lives, but I would disregard them, be distant with them, and want little or nothing to do with them.
Example...
Now you may say to me...
You: "I chose to keep going. I studied in college, and I grasped the opportunity so my dream can come true. Being a little agianst your pride is no big deal.
and I would say...
Me: "Don't Care."
You: "You're not swearing in blood when you get jobs. Personally, I had no "my way" when it came to finding work. As long as I was making money and didn't mind the work I was doing, who was I to complain?"
Me: "Still not caring."
I understand how life and things work sometimes... but in the end whether I understand or not "I just don't like it, don't approve it, and therefore... I want to chuck it out."

Kari to Davis: "I've made my choice. I want to be with TK, but I don't want you doing this to yourself. You're my friend, and I still care about you, and I don't want to lose all we have and shared. Won't you at least try...?"
Titans/Terra to Beast Boy: "Terra/I has/I've moved on, and it was noble of you to let her/me go so she can be happy. I know it seems painful, but it'll get better. Not all changes are bad, and one day you'll find the happiness you desire, but you need to accept and respect Changes, and you have to try."
Moondancer/Davis/Beast Boy/Me: "I can't (I won't, not this way)! It's wrong, I don't like it, and I want nothing to do with it!"
So you call me a failure huh?
Well guess what, to me... going against my pride and doing all of that (what you want) and more things I hate is what really would make me a failure.
A lot of people (Even you) and the way the world works have pissed me off that much that I would prefer to think like this, and that's my choice (Actually it;s not a choice, it's a Lack of options)
And that's final! I have to true to myself and my pride.

Most of your opinion I have nothing against, except this one. I mean, you make it sound like everyone would. I can safely say I wouldn't, neither would most of my family or circle of friends. I'm also pretty sure we're not the only ones in the world nor even a minority, so I'm going to call that paragraph of yours wrong.
I won't call you wrong on anything you state that's your opinion because it is yours and you're the best placed to know it, but I do dislike when others use the arguments just saying "everyone else", "People", "the majority" without any proof to make a point.
As far as Talon is concerned, I got my opinion and you got yours so let's leave it to that. Still liked the ending of that story.
