    Happy New Years

    2023 was way too long.

My goal this year is to find a new job. Try and write more than one new chapter of Feather Steel and to hopefully publish this new story of mine which popped into my head and won't leave. Already written 20,000 words. :twilightsheepish:

As for my other unfinished works, we'll see. :facehoof:

    The Curse is Broken

So, yeah, finally a new chapter is here.

What can I say other than time goes by fast and you never realize how much you lose until it's lost. Five years :fluttershysad:

The Difficulty of Continuing a Story

Why is it so difficult to do this sometimes? I feel like it's much, much easier to come up with a new story and write it out. But Celestia help you if you stop and want to continue later. :facehoof:

    A Rushed Job

I'm Back from TrotCon which was fun, though I feel they planned poorly for how large the venue was vs how many people were there (last time it was in a smaller hotel and felt cozy).

What's the Deal with Feather Steel · 3:28am Jul 14th, 2017

I've attempted to write this blog several times and have given up because, honestly, I don't really know what to say for now. I need to rethink how this story will be written and really have a long talk with my co-writer about maybe me taking the lead for a bit due to the stress he's under and constant work. I assume so though we haven't been talking too often. Not to get too personal or anything.

In addition, I'm under some stress trying to stay focused at work and really trying to figure out my future beyond my retail job which is steadily becoming something that is obviously not for me, and even if I could adapt even more and figure out some way to get ahead at the job, I've heard there's zero room for improvement in the company at the moment and they recently gave me a raise:

I went from 10.50 an hour to 10.64 an hour... :applejackconfused: Like... how does that even happen? Can't you make it an even 1.75? What is this, the 40s?!

To top it off, despite busting my ass off to make up for my lazy co-workers at time and almost always coming in when they call me on my day off, my recent performance review was average basically. So... yeah.

To make a long story short, I need to figure a few things out and I think it's gonna be going back to college to hopefully get a real degree in game development so I can further pursue that. Feather Steel will still happen, just much slower. To top it all off, I was hoping to convert the idea of Feather Steel into its own separate universe not as its own narrative work, but as a video game. They are very ambitious ideas and I have no idea if I can see them through... but I really don't wanna give up on them. Even if the game turns intro something else, in the end. (Video Games do that a ton through their development stages XD).

TL;DR: The story is fine though clearly new chapters are gonna take a while as usual which makes me sad but I will keep going until the story ends, as planned.

Not worried about your progress on the story. Just do things in the order of priority.

Found this, which may be helpful. Check to see if any of these degrees would be good additions to your skillset. Plus a number of them are for jobs that can be done remotely.

Thank you for the advice and link!

I'm glad to hear you talking about "Feather Steel" again. It's definitely a deep tale and one of the first I ever read that featured Diamond Tiara as something more than a mean pony.

I used to not be able to keep up with some of the feed that I get. However one blessing from the recent updates is how I can now get to notice and read blog updates. Yay!

I know you'll finish "Feather Steel". It took me years to finish some of my stories but they still got done. I'm certain Feather Steel will be back and just as, if not more, awesome than ever before! :)

You and me both, Spike. I'll soon be moving to AUS for school, though I'm not entirely sure how much it's going to help. At least my rewrite's taken off. Good luck to both of us.
