Amaranth and the Mountain--First Draft Completed! · 5:50pm Jul 20th, 2017
Last night, around 9:00 PM PST or so, I did it--I finished the first draft of Amaranth and the Mountain!
It took me three years to get this far, and more hours in coffee shops and libraries than I care to admit. I'm bound to spend many more as I dive into transcribing (yes, I wrote the majority of this novel out by long hand; it's spread across 11 other volumes of disposable journal inserts like this one) and editing this behemoth into something I could be happy with and maybe even find a publisher for.
The road ahead is long, but I knew that once I got this far I'd be able to see the rest of the work through. For now, though, I'm going to take a break.
Congrats!
I've always considered you a top-tier writer, as your limited work on this site would prove. You deserve a break after what I'm sure is a fantastic novel waiting to be released to the masses in the hopefully near future.
Congrats on finishing your story, man!
Man, writing shit out with a pen just seems so absurdly quaint these days. It's kind of awesome though.
Although, I absolutely don't envy all the extra work that editing that shit is gonna take. Great job, though, dude, I can't wait to see it.
Looks like you can read the apparent ending to this story...
Thumbs up and pat on the back from me mate, for getting this far.
Here's to good fortune, break a
(leg)wrist.
