Howdy, folks!
First of all, a big thanks to everyone who has been reading Codex Ponera - Cliffside Eyrie. The sudden upswing in readers two weeks ago proved to be the impetus I needed to get back into writing again - I was running down my prewritten buffer, but now I'm building it back up again.
Chapter 8 goes up tomorrow, and brace yourselves, because at over 7,000 words it's longer than anything I've written before (come to think of it, that may be literally true). I think you'll like this one, it goes into Rainbow's backstory quite a bit.
But now, to the gift. No, I'm not accelerating my publishing schedule - I intend to put up the sequel on the same schedule, and since I've only sketched out a vague plot outline at this point, I'll need as much time as I can give myself to get started on book 2. Tentative title in spoiler tags in case anyone wants to be surprised: Codex Ponera - Equinopolis.
The gift is below - this is a map of Ponera, hand drawn by me on A3 size paper and uploaded for your convenience. I'll probably try to create a better quality version at some point, but this is the world in which the stories of the Codex Ponera take place.
Apologies for the odd colour-shift halfway across, my scanner is only A4 sized and I had to kludge the halves together.
Still, now you can see where exactly things are happening. To be specific, Codex Ponera - Cliffside Eyrie takes place almost exclusively in the upper right corner, near the city of Cliffside Eyrie. The exception is the prologue set in Jewelport, the third settlement along the southern coast from Cliffside Eyrie - follow the red line road if you get lost.
