Don't read my stuff if you have a weak stomach or are easily bothered by traumatic genitalia damage. That's seriously all I've got in here!

I guess I gotta do one of these Bronycon recap post things. Fug. · 7:31pm Aug 15th, 2017

Okay. So everyone else seems to be doing these, I guess I have to as well.
It's been... an interesting few days after my trip to Bronycon, and I have had some time to reflect. I have always found it interesting to watch people react to meeting me vs. meeting priest when we're at cons together. They come up, shake his hand, tell him they love his work, like a certain series, ask how he's doing. Then they ask who I am, and I give my name. Without fail, it's usually received with a widening of the eyes and a "Oh YOU'RE anonpencil!" From there they either take a little step away and get flustered, or they go in for the hug. I know I'm not what people really expect me to be, and that's really okay with me. This con is probably the first I've gotten more hugs than steps back, though, and I'm... not sure how to feel about that. I know I have a bit of a reputation, and not usually in the best way. Is that changing, or am I just finding more of "my" people? Either way, feels good man, in its own way.

ANYWAY. Onto a brief summary of the happenings.
I did three costumes over the weekend, starting with the Smooze. Princess Smooze to be exact. This costume went over extremely well, but I definitely needed the little plush, because some people didn't recognize me without it. Got a lot of good photos of that, expecting those to float around online soon.
The second was Tracy Cage, punk version. Tracy may be one of the most comfortable, most relaxing, and most fun cosplays I do. It's much more... well, me. Few people recognize her, but when they do, they tend to flip out. I had one such freak out, and it was a really great time.
Last was Nurse Redheart. I debuted her at Babscon, but was sick and did not get the chance to really be her for very long. This time around, I got to be her for much longer, and it was a ton of fun. Would love to fix her up with more props and attire, and keep being her at future cons.

My con days went pretty meh, to be honest. I got sick the second day, damn you blood iron, so I didn't have as much time to see people. Many people I wanted to hang out with, I just saw in passing. Parties I wanted to go to, simply didn't happen. That's my biggest regret. That I didn't have more time to get to know people. The gala was also a bust, sadly, as it was too hot, too humid, and too busy to stay for more than a moment. I got dressed up for nothin.
Okay, not nothing. I ended up wearing my very swanky formal attire to the 50 Shades of Neigh panel I was on. Which was a roaring success. Big crowd, lots of laughs, drinking, and actually good advice given. Had people tell me it was helpful, so I'm sure of that. The others I was on the panel with were breddy kul duds, and they had some very good insights into erotica and writing in general. Also, no, you don't penetrate the clit. Learn anatomy, god.
Vomiting Fluttershy did make a brief reappearance, but had to be kinda kept on the DL. The reason is that, apparently, when I was not hear last year, the vomiting ponies got out of control and were banned from Quills and Sofas. People got in trouble. I mean, I guess I'm proud, but, damn, really?
I am not sure I will be able to go to Bronycon next year. Ticket prices are a bitch, and I relied much on the kindness of others this time around, which makes me uneasy. But I do hope to go back.
In the meantime, let's say hi to a few people I met, shall we? If I forgot you, because I'm tired, lazy, and supposed to be working, let me know in the comments, I'll definitely have something to say to you, and I'll add it. I haven't forgotten you, I promise. And I want to give you the attention you deserve, so call me out, and I'll write about ya.

Flutterpriest: I love you, and I've missed you. The time we spent together was magical as usual, like we hadn't missed a beat in the time we were apart. I'm so glad you got to have a good time, and got to live out sort of a lifelong dream. There are so many things I wish we could have done and gone to, that we'd planned on, but I also know time did not allow. Hopefully we can remedy all that in a few months. I know con drop hits hard, but don't question this much: You're a good person, and the con was better because you were there. You're wonderful, and I'm so lucky to have you in my life. Also, Office Love when, you fagoot?

Milk: Thank you for giving me a place to stay. Seeing you smile pretty much all con did my heart good. You're so much happier now than when I first met you, and your kindness shone through time and time again at this con. I'm not gonna suck your dick on here or anything, just gonna say that I'm glad we got to hang out and have our impromptu slumber party where we talked about enemas. A lot. Next time, we'll have drinks together too, my stomach allowing. Keep your chin up, iz b k.

Snu: I am thrilled to have gotten to meet you. Please don't question yourself too much about this weekend, it was genuinely a pleasure. You're quick with the deadpan puns, you're adorable, soft spoken, and witty. And you're kind and you make Milk happy. What more can I honestly ask of you? Seriously, you are welcome in our circle of friends, please stay.

Flammenwerfer: Bruh, you saved my ass more than once. I don't particularly like people taking care of me, but when I was sick, you stepped up, and that was super important to me. It helped my con not implode upon itself entirely. So thank you. Always good to hang out, sorry we didn't get to drink more, but it was fun watching the occasional fan fawn all over you for your stories. Being that well liked feels weird, don't it?

Crystal and Anzel: Fuck, so glad I got to meet you two. Your panel was so insightful, and it's not often I find myself nodding along to writing and relationship advice so readily. You helped people, I have zero doubt that you did. Anzel, your wit is so low-key quick it's hard to know if you're kidding or not for a split second. And you're the kind of supportive, caring dude that more guys could take note from (take note, more guys). Crystal, you're absurdly sweet. As someone who has crippling anxiety when it comes to going out in public, I know it can be hard to do the on stage, lots of people, smile or else thing. You pulled it off with flying colors. I'm super happy that we're friends, genuinely, and that I have not scared you off yet.

Majin Syeekoh: You are such a nice person. Really, Priest and I kept saying that to each other. You're so FUCKING NICE! I'm glad I got to hang out with you as much as I did, it was really fun, and I liked the company. I'm glad you liked that dumb little drawing I did for ya, and I'll see you in the chats... where I will surely post more gross porn for your enjoyment.

Shakespearicles: I cannot thank you enough for having me on that panel. I fear I perhaps spoke too much, or at least out of turn too much, but it was fun, and I think it went really well! Would happily work with you again in the future. I honestly expected you to be this bigger than life person, as I often am, but really? You were just pretty chill. That's not a bad thing at all, and I know well it's sometimes nice to be something other than you appear online. It was great meeting you, even if you didn't do the incest kissing at our panel... besides, I only hit on your lady, like, a little bit.

Gary Oak, Applejynx, MidnightDancer: You guys were a genuine joy to work with. You were all funny, you all played off each other well, and it made the panel shine because of you. You had genuine chemistry with each other, and even if we only interacted briefly, you made my con just that much better.

RobCakeran: AAAAAAAAAAAH THANK YOU FOR THE RECORDS! They are on my mantel right now, next to my record player, and I know they'll get a lot of use. I know you probably hate me kind of a little for always calling attention to you wherever you went, but it was a vital part of my con, to be honest. And yes, you do give good hugs. :)

Wuten: I missed your stupid face! I only got to see you and Scribbler and Caitbug like, for a hot minute, but my cons always feel incomplete unless I do that. I hope next time we can spare a few minutes or something to hang out, have a drink, be shitlords and talk about your most recent projects. It's always a good time.

Wootmaster: Don't run. I will find you. You will not escape me, even if you try. Draw more Tracy. DRAW MORE TRACY, DAMN YOU. Fucking do it you pleb. Then I will voice her. And hunt you down at the next con.

Duelist: I was owed a hug, and I got a hug. A genuine one at that. you're too hard on yourself too often, and that vexes me. I worry about you and stuff. I can't do much about it but offer another hug at another con, if you're up for it. I was really glad I got to actually meet you in person.

Professor Plum: I think I come up to your nipples. Nipple-biting height. Probably not the best situation for you. Either way, happy to meet you and hear the accent in person! Weirdly enough, you looked almost EXACTLY as I imagined you... except, you know, like almost twice as high or something.

Admiral Biscuit: I have a new shit, and it's not big enough to be a nigh shirt! Hooray! You seemed like a very kind and friendly person, and that made you infinitely approachable. It's definitely a worthwhile feature to have. I'm really looking forward to having you on the Barcast on Friday, which I will be there for PART of the time. I am also very much looking forward to that certain fic you might just do. Object permanence, man, it's a real thing.

Jake The Army Guy: While you were not exactly what I expected, your sense of humor was just how I imagined. Our views on writing and characters don't always coincide, but you roll with the punches pretty well, and you have my respect. You also made me laugh SO hard at the panel, wtf, man, that was wonderful. OH, and before I forget, I have a certain pic of you cuddling a pair of Dakis...let me know if you want it or if I should burn it.

Okay, my brain is tired. I know that's not NEARLY EVEN SLIGHTLY everyone, to please let me know and I'll write ya something, honest I will. I can even think of a few of you who I haven't included yet. But I will get to it, I swear.
Now, considering I am an adult, and it is after noon, and I have not had alcohol in four fucking days (even though I was at a con), I think I'll pour myself a drink.

Oh, here, have some fucking photos.

Aww, Priest looks so handsome in that dapper suit. Although, I hope it's a two button because three and four button jackets went the way of the dinosaur a few years back.

Ah well, I'm glad you had a fun time! Knowing how hard you guys work at your jobs, on the podcast and everything else, a good vacation was definitely in order for you.

Oh... is your goal to scare me off? You'll have to try harder, you fantastically gorgeous woman.

He's easily the most dapper author on this site.

Whats with the Cherrios? :rainbowlaugh:

4635746
You'll have to ask around, I am unsure myself.

You're a girl!?

4635769
Is this still news?

4635771
No, but I wanted to act surprised anyway. :rainbowkiss:

So everyone else seems to be doing these, I guess I have to as well.

How else will those of us who didn't go be filled with jealous yet good-natured rage?

you don't penetrate the clit.

*taking notes* You don't... penetrate... the clit...

You're welcome on my panels any time. Your participation was excellent.

I honestly expected you to be this bigger-than-life person. But really, you were just pretty chill.

I get this all the time at cons.

It was great meeting you, even if you didn't do the incest kissing at our panel.

OKAY, a little context here!
I was cos-playing as Shining Armor, (see photo above). MidnightDancer was cos-playing as Twilight Sparkle. And were were going to wear them to the panel that night to occasionally make out to mess with the audience. But we got caught in the rain on the way to the Writer's Dinner, and we had to change out of them.

4635824
Pfffff who needs context?

Saw the Fifty Shades of Neigh panel, it was the most fun I had at the con. And I'm working on that "Stallion with no sense of object permanence gets terrified when he can't see his dick during sex" fic you mentioned during the panel. Been meaning to write a fic for a while, that's a good choice for a first one, right?

God help me.

Yay pictures! Tell Priest off for not putting enough in his blog.

Argh, but seriously, reading everyone's BronyCon recaps, it sounds like everyone had an amazing time. It sucks I couldn't make it to meet you (and join the 'Pencil hugged me' club).

I hope you are able to make it next year, because I'm looking into hopefully attending myself. It would be great to finally meet you all. But that's a year away, and I'm glad you had a good time this weekend.

Thanks for everything you do in terms of writing and with the Barcast. Famous is right when he says you deserved a break, and I'm happy it went so well for you.

It was nice to meet you, pencil, even if it was only brief and our word exchange was limited.

Hope to see you again next year!

I'm so so sorry I missed your panel, I heard it was petty epic and I totally need to see you again so I can steal a smooch.

It was a pleasure working with you on the panel! My only regrets are the lack of stage speakers making it difficult to hear my co-panelists on the far right side (where you were) so I was afraid I ran over you and Flutterpriest once or twice (still unsure if I did), and that we didn't get the opportunity to have a proper chat at the con. I really would have liked to have a good sit down, but it's literally impossible to do even close to do everything one wants to at Bronycon. The days needed another 12 hours added to them!

It's awesome that you enjoyed spending time with me! And yes, you drew an excellent picture for me which I greatly appreciated.

I'll see you around the Barcast, and if fortune favors both of us, hopefully next year at bronycon!

Pencil! We met briefly after the QnB panel until I awkwardly skedaddled away... oops. Sorry 'bout that. You're awesome, pls don't hate me.

Didn't have the chance to say in person, but you rocked that gala dress, girl. Here's hoping I'll be there for next year

I'm glad you liked the records.

Hey, man, nipple-biting height sounds pretty good to me :raritywink:

I am also very much looking forward to that certain fic you might just do. Object permanence, man, it's a real thing.

I probably ought not link it here, since it's mature, but I did go and write that story you demanded.

4638744
-high pitched shrieking- YES. GIVE.

Top of my story list. Oddly, also in the popular column.

Okay, so extremely fucking late on this, so good job on my lazy ass. I'm glad you liked the hug. I keep my promises that I make.

As for being hard on myself, I have to just to be the kind of person that I am.

As for worrying about. You honestly don't need to. You have more important people to worry about.

I will also take you up on your offer for another hug if we meet up again.
