Not much to say, really; I'm Australian. I'm not an author, merely a bibliophile, a gamer and a YouTube watcher.

    Feeling Kind of Disappointed

It's been quite some time since I've been excited to visit FimFiction, since there's rarely anything worthwhile to read these days. Pretty much all of the 'fics I've been interested in haven't been updated in weeks, and there's nothing really 'grabbing' me on the front page.

    FimFiction 4.0

Ookay. FimFiction 4.0, the new site redesign that, for me, appeared this morning (for reference, I live in AEST, and it’s 7:27pm as of writing this sentence - the site went down at 8:30pm last night). I also know I should probably put this in a group, or forum, or whatever, if I want an admin to see this, but I don’t particularly care for such things (nor can I find them). Anyway...

A big problem I have with "Incomplete" stories.

Why are stories allowed to be "incomplete" if they haven't received an update in a year? Heck, sometimes I come across "incomplete" stories that haven't been updated in three years - just set that to "On Hiatus" or "Cancelled"!

Okay, just watched To Where and Back Again, the Season 6 finale, and while it was pretty good, it does leave four big unanswered questions:
1. How did everypony get kidnapped?
Celestia and Luna were ensconced in Canterlot Castle, where they should've been protected throughout the day and night; any fighting would've woken them up, and it's obvious changelings aren't...the best actors out there...(seriously, the 'Mane 6' impersonators could've done a lot better). So how did Chrysalis manage to sneak the two main rulers out of the main castle? Also, who controlled the Sun and the Moon, if their controllers are without magic?
Then we get to the Crystal Empire - every citizen loves their rulers, and again, there were Guards in the palace; how did they manage to capture the three members of royalty without much of a fuss (we only hear of Sunburst sending Thorax away; why didn't we hear of any ponies going to relay the news to Canterlot?). This isn't even covering Flurry Heart, who has uncontrollable, and quite powerful, magic; I would've expected a massive power surge should she witness her parents being captured, a surge that would, in all likelihood, do severe damage to the changelings. Yet...nothing. Huh.
Lastly, the Mane 6 - Twilight managed to realise somepony was being impersonated back in Season 2, when she wasn't a princess and changelings were still unknown. Yet now...she failed. Somehow. We saw her go toe-to-toe with Tirek, and battle Starlight to a stalemate; she couldn't defeat a few changelings (a large army would've caused Ponyville to panic - again - which clearly did not happen)? If somepony was being impersonated, in order to lead her into a trap, why didn't the Princess of Friendship realise something wasn't right?
The same goes for the rest of the Mane 6 - they should all know each other well enough to point out copycats, especially when said copycats suck at copying behavioural patterns, and Fluttershy should have a veritable army of animals ready to defend her.

What the fuck happened?

2. Why were there no anti-changeling (except Thorax) defenses?
The changeling queen clearly wasn't captured at the end of A Canterlot Wedding, so defenses should've been installed; passphrases that only Guards know (and any 'Guards' that fail get instantly mobbed), citizens told to create their own means of identification (come on, even the it-would've-been-so-damn-hilarious-if-it-wasn't-so-upsettingly-awful Ministry of Magic managed to pass along this information in Harry Potter, and they're easy to corrupt and fool), and the magical 'hoofprint' of changeling magic identified to build changeling magic detectors.
Yet, nope. Changelings can strut about and abduct any member of royalty without fear of being discovered.

3. Where was Discord when the Mane 6 were taken?
Discord is sweet on Fluttershy, and should know whether or not she was in danger (I dunno, stick a tracker on her; have a grandfather clock that has a hand depicting where Fluttershy is, and whether or not she's in 'Mortal Danger'; something, anything), or gone for random visits. So how was Discord not made aware of her (and the other ponies') abduction until Starlight informed him?
If he went to the cottage for tea, he should be able to tell if 'Fluttershy' was the real deal or not.

4. How can the sun and the moon move?
In Princess Twilight Sparkle, Celestia and Luna are kidnapped by plundervines, and stored away. This makes the sky go half-day/half-night. However, in this episode, Celestia and Luna are kidnapped by changelings, and stored away right above a magic-absorbing throne. The sun and the moon? Perfectly fine.
WHAT? Somehow the plundervines' magic-affecting gas (makes Rarity's teapot go crazy and stain a dress, then a coat or something chases after her and her sister before a jump cut) is more powerful than a magic-absorbing chair (which even absorbs Discord's magic). Despite the gas losing its effects near the end (Twilight was gassed heavily - which caused Spike to get the girls to rescue her - but was still able to "fire [her] lazars").
And I doubt the fake Princesses in Canterlot would've had the same connection; moving celestial bodies ain't something anyone can do (I dunno if this is canon or not, but before Celestia and Luna came along, moving the bodies required a whole group of powerful mages - clearly not something two drones would be able to pull off).
So as soon as Celestia and Luna were taken, the sky should've been frozen, thus revealing the fact that the 'Princesses' are impersonators and the real ones had been kidnapped (again).

Again, good episode, except for those four points.
