New art (commissioned by me), dialogue help requested

So, the ever awesome Moth (mochi_nation on Twitter and Mstdn.social) drew this commission for me of me server her Highness at my store.

Problem for me is that I have no idea what they should be talking about, so y'all got any ideas?

A New Generation of ponies (possible mild spoilers)

So, the time has come, G5/A New Generation the movie has dropped. Not bad, though I do agree with Dr Wolf that it seemed rushed at times, likely as he said a side effect of it being under two hours. Before I'd seen it, based on rumors and clips leaked on YouTube I would've described as 'a group of ponies go searching for the magical MacGuffin only to find out what's really important'. Seriously,

    Punting Google

And hopefully some or all of the authors I work with will be willing to follow me. The whole story is over here but the short version is Google is being really blatant about how much they track you, and it's making me a bit uncomfortable. Yes, I'll still keep using their services as long as authors I work with use it, but I rather hope

Which is something you won't see a lot of as the story really, really has to impress me to make it on there. In some way these stories stand above the crowd, and that elite collection has two more members.

Once More Into the Night by Undome Tinwe
At first this doesn't look like much, if you don't look at the tags, in fact I only read the short description, it simply looks like a Luna and Sunset team up against a threat. Even if you do read the tags and full description, you won't be prepared for this one. The notable part is when Sunset says her piece, when she explains to Luna just what makes the two of them different from Twilight and Celestia, what makes them special. If there's been any other author who so perfectly captures what makes these two special, I haven't seen it. This story should be treated as a reference material about Sunset and Luna, hands down (hoofs down?).

The Safety Bell Was Silent by Scarlet Weather
Now here's something you don't expect to see, a BDSM story held up like this. Then again, its not what you expect when you say it's a story set in a BDSM club that's existed since the beginning of Equestria, but then that's why it's in here. When someone says the story involves a BDSM club, you expect it to either exploit the setting or be a clop story, you don't expect a well... mystery story. This makes it in here not because of the fantastic writing, nor the unique style of the prose (one of a kind ifn you ask me), nor the interesting contributions to the world of Equestria. Nope, it makes it in here because it is a wonderful example of what you can do with a setting if you have a good imagination. It's easy to write a clop story set in a BDSM club, but a mystery story for which such a club is just a background, treated as a mundane and ordinary setting? That takes skill, and more importantly, imagination, and the strength not to fall back into the lazy and easy matter of writing clop. If someone asks me for a Clock Tower Society story to read, there's no question this will be the one I direct them too. Sure, there are other great stories using that setting, but no others that I can think of that break out of the mold, and show just how versatile a setting it is.

Whelp, that's it this time around, perhaps some day in the future, maybe soon, maybe not, there'll be more stories added.

Really not a fan of the CTS. The stories (only talking about the core ones) talk up consent, and all these safety measures to keep consent, but I have yet to see any where a pony uses a safeword just because they aren't feeling "it" or such. Combined with the group as a whole, who have a foalcon section in their "consensual clopfics" listing, it just doesn't feel like consent is actually the focus at all, but rather just the degrading aspects of BDSM. Just my opinion, take with a grain of salt.

Mmm, one of Seraph's stories it happens, Cadance safeword's a scene to a stop as she's worried about Luna's mental state, and while it continues, in the end, she's the one that ends the scene. Also there are scenes regarding her mental health after her return. As to the whole foalcon, while I'm not against it per se, it definitely seems out of place in the CTS setting, though admittedly foalcon is a complicated thing in the MLP universe.

4699986 Many would argue that a person underage cannot give consent. When I write characters (or read about them for that matter) I think of them as real people (kinda have to to be able to write them at all convincingly). Foalcon is pedophilia with a more friendly name.

I disagree, if fully informed, then they can consent. Of course that makes abuse far too easy, hence the fact that I think the laws we have in place are just fine.

In the MLP universe things get complicated. Ponies start working well before they get their cutie marks, at least some of the time, and once you get your mark, it's not considered odd to start working in your field. Considering that cutie marks seem to appear in early teens if not pre-teen years, that makes comparing it to human standards hard, after all, we usually wait until we're eighteen to go into full time work or start a business, the same time we're considered adults. Plus eighteen is a somewhat arbritary number, there are sixteen year olds that are more mature than twenty-six year olds out there. Age of consent can be a tricky thing.

Me, loli/shota/cub/foal isn't my fetish. Doesn't bother me if it shows up in one of my fetishes, but in and of itself, no interest, but then I am asexual, so that shouldn't be a surprise.

4700009 I would argue that while many ponies start to learn a trade when they get their cutie mark, from what we have seen in the show a lot of foals are getting theirs in early-mid primary school (in human terms, age 6-10). I would also add that of all the foalcon I have had the displeasure to see, most of it emphasizes characters who do not make what I would consider adult decisions. I guess we shall agree to disagree on this.

Oh, and hey, another ace!

Since I haven't seen too much of it, actually only one story here IIRC, I can't say I know much about the content, but I'm not particularly offended by its existence, so long as we're talking fictional depictions, ie drawings and stories, regardless of consent level. I don't think there's much to disagree on, if we're talking real kids, then the law of the land is what it should be, not allowed, but fantasy? Whatever floats your boat, just remember to stay there or make sure I don't find out.

4700011
And I'm realizing that I prolly entirely missed your point. I think anyone can consent to sex at any age as long as they can communicate, so long as they're properly informed. Of course that'd require a completely unbiased education on the subject, and the other party accepting no for an answer, and such. Since you can't guarantee that one hundred percent of the time, that answer is simply not to allow it, hence my somewhat odd split stance. That and I don't see much wrong with fantasizing about something you shouldn't do in real life, I'd rather you fantasize than do it.
