Hat Man Reviews: "Haze" by Bandy!

New "Iron Horse" Cover... Take #2! · 1:12am Nov 5th, 2017

So, a while ago, Greenfinger streamed what was going to be the new Iron Horse cover image. It might have gone up already were it not for some miscommunication about what the background should be. But after looking at it, I decided I wanted to go in a different direction, so (after paying Green for the work he did already), we decided that he’ll give it another go on Monday at 4 pm US Central Time over on his Twitch Stream. Keep in mind that Daylight Savings time ends tomorrow, so if you’re outside the US, adjust accordingly. Anyway, here’s the image Green drew with one of his old backgrounds added, along with my explanation for why I decided not to go with it below.

Despite not using it, seriously, this is super cute.

The main reason was simply that I didn’t think Turing’s sitting position worked. It’s cute, sure, but a new reader checking out the story for the first time wouldn’t get a good idea of what she looked like. It also makes her look too small, even though she’s the size of an adult pony. I’m having Green go with her standing instead, which I think will give a better idea of what she looks like. It’ll hopefully still retain that childlike curiosity that she has without making her look like a child.

It does look cute. Think you'll save it in the gallery titled: "Dear Greenfinger, there was a misunderstanding. Please try again. Sincerely, Turing Test."? Because it would be such a waste to be given this picture and not let people see it for their pleasure.
