Checked it out and there are a lot of after the wedding Idol Hooves stories, There all pretty good too.
Of course we want to see the wedding! Seeing your best friend has secretly been a changeling for many years has to be shocking. If that even is what would happen.

Hearts of Iron IV is a grand strategy game from Paradox Interactive focusing on the World War II era from 1936 to 1948. It is notable among Paradox's grand strategy titles for being relatively easy to learn (but pretty difficult to master, because whoa nelly there's a lot simulated in it), but like all Paradox games it features and extensive modding community so that you can do everything from making it so that you get Rick Rolled every time you start the game to playing an alternate history scenario where Germany won World War I and seemingly every country on the planet is on the verge of a five way civil war. "Equestria at War" is one of those mods, and it aims to bring the world of MLP (or at least a rough image of it) to the game one continent at a time. Personally, I really like it because I'm a fan of the franchise and it allows me to play out so many weird alternate scenarios that would make great fanfic fodder but which I get to rewrite every time.
The quote attributed to Idol Hooves appears in the loading screen is: LOADING_TIP_53:0 "I know you spoke in jest, Princess Cadance, but nevertheless I accept your challenge. I shall build the finest snow fort in the world\n- Guard Engineer Idol Hooves" : It's actually a quote adapted from Rogal Dorn in the popular YouTube series If the Emperor Had a Text to Speech Device (a shockingly similar character, something others have noted before), but I found it fitting because in a world gone mad Idol would likely want to be guarding Cadance and Shining Armor. Probably given while Cadance is telling him to take a rest and maybe build a snow fort, and then after that Idol told one of his subordinates, "The problem with most snow forts is that they use snow as a building material. We shall use concrete." Of course, there's also a focus that gives a 20% boost to building fortifications for 320 days in the Crystal Empire's focus tree so the player can also connect the dots there.
Though I suppose this could also be taken as yet more "people want to talk about the wedding." For while I personally want to encourage the mod developers to make Idol Hooves a harmony-ideology-locked Fortification Engineer -- indeed, the Crystal Empire is in desperate need of possible advisors for most government positions (except tank design, they're got a lot of tank designers -- the simple fact of the matter is that I don't know if Idol will even be alive five years after the Canterlot Wedding. Never mind working for the Royal Guard. (Also, you haven't given any permission there, so it's hard to say how much is going to fly there.)
