The trouble of having far too many people in charge and too many characters to write for making picking and choosing who gets what in a season a lot more limiting. It's much easier to churn out stories with the mane 6 and Glimmer than it'd be for making a Diamond Tiara episode which would have to find a reason to push the CMC or somepony to teach the audience some sort of lesson on something.

Hard to find such willing writers let alone those wanting to try and convince the many heads that they should allow such an episode with Diamond to go through. Sad times, the CMC and the Sugarlumps had such a great dynamic too.
