This chapter is driving me absolutely crazy · 8:25pm Dec 21st, 2017
I know I said that the next chapter was almost done, but after stepping away for a bit to deal with IRL stuff and then coming back, I found that I didn’t like where the story was going. So I scrapped a good 1k of it or so, maybe 2k, and re did it. Then I did so again, and again, and again, and again, and so on. Happened with long stretches of paragraphs and short sentences alike. No words were safe.
I cannot tell you how many times I’ve had to rewrite this dumb chapter. If it wasn’t the way the plot was going, then it was the tone of the words or the various actions taken. It’s been an absolute clusterfuck to organize and set up properly, but dammit, I will see this thing to the end.
Maybe next time I write a short story, I’ll keep in mind to write all the chapters before posting. Worked well enough for the Ember fic.
Is it really driving you that crazy?
Things can bad at first but sometimes you'll fine a way to make it right.
Plus you still working on the story?
Thought I ask.

It’s the kind of crazy where you’re putting together a large jigsaw puzzle, but the pieces you think fit together don’t sit well with each other in practice and so you have to sort through the pile multiple times until you find bits that do fit together only to find that they don’t fit with other crucial parts.
You get the idea, and it doesn’t take long to get frustrated sometimes, especially with parts that have been replaced the most.

It does get tough, but i know there is a light at the end of this tunnel maze. To answer your question, I am still working on it. In fact, part of the reason I made this blog post was upon realizing that there might be another way to write this next chapter, but it might involve tearing down almost all of my progress. It’s annoying to say the least, but I want this story to be the best that it can be.

Yikes. Yes, I have been there.
What helps me is to think of it as a challenge than a set back. Sometimes, I just take a step back and ponder. An idea always sprouts somehow.

Oh okay
I understand how fill man like when something pops up you like are you are like are you freakin kidding me but when you start to think you'll somehow get your answer.
Keep trying and keep up the good work.
Don't worry, we will wait when you are ready
