So. The plan for this weekend was writing a comedy piece for Aragon's contest inspired by this image. Then, not even thirty percent of the way through, it decided that comedy elements were fine, but it really wanted to be an exploration of the characters and how physical, emotional, and social maturation don't operate at the same rate in relation to one another. Also, I figured out a climax for it that—

Well, I should probably stop talking about this story. I do still intend on writing it. Meanwhile, I somehow wrote an Anon-a-Miss story that simultaneously is, isn't, and isn't not an AU story. And Best Human found her way in there.

I just don't know what went wrong.

See, this is why I didn't try that contest. All my comedies turn into sadfic and my dramas turn into farce. I've had to physically pull back from letting Silver Standard veer into sheer comedy because the darker it gets the more I make jokes.

I'm getting my Aragon contest entry written, too! Not having the same sort of derail that you are, but I could probably be writing approximately 400% faster if it weren't for video games.
