Club Heartbeat - A Lesbian Paranormal Vampire Romance Short Story · 12:02pm Feb 26th, 2018
So, this is something I have been working on in an on and off manner for the past little while. Club Heartbeat is a non-pony, lesbian paranormal vampire romance, short story that will be roughly 10,000 to 11,000 words in length. The story follows a girl by the name of Samirah Melody and her first time going out in a new town, the story starts with her at the club utterly bored and alone in a new town and a club with people she doesn't know. During the night she has a chance meeting with a mysterious, beautiful woman named Jessica. A woman who will change her life, forever.
It will be published through Amazon's Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) in the first half of the month of March. Most of the story is finished already, I am currently going back through it with a few rewrites and additions added to it, aside from that the only thing that is really required is cover art, editing and some proofreading. I am also still actively looking for an artist who is comfortable with doing cover art designs of the non-pony variety.
The plan for the moment is to put it up for pre-orders on March 18th 2018.
A small Excerpt:
It was late. Very late actually according to the dimly lit display of her phone. Sighing softly Samirah looked across the bar, past the guy sitting two chairs down from her to the busy dance floor. So many people and all of them unknown to her. If this had been the town she had grown up in she might have recognised someone, a cute girl she’d talked to before, a friend she hadn’t seen in a while, maybe someone she only knew from archery. It would be easier to start a conversation with a “Hey, I think I know you.” while knowing it was true. Being alone in a club in a strange town, it still felt strange even though she had lived here for four months now. It made her feel so much less outgoing and more timid. Looking back to her own reflection in her tonic water. She hadn’t been able to really afford any of the club’s scandalously expensive drinks.
Bright blue eyes stared back up at her from the rippling surface of her drink, surrounded by a pale face with a light application of accentuating makeup all framed by the platinum blond hair. She was pleased with her looks, even if she’d dressed a bit sluttier than she normally would have dared in her hometown. She’d always been too embarrassed to be seen by someone she knew in an outfit that consisted of a navel top that accentuated her cleavage and tight enough to show off she was not wearing a bra and a skirt so scandalously short that every movement threatened to show off her white cotton panties. Fishnet gloves and stockings finished off her look. Even though she was dressed like that she could easily be, and quite often was, mistaken for a sixteen-year-old. Just thinking about the bouncer, the bartender, and random security constantly asking for her ID-card annoyed her to no end. She was twenty-seven.
She looked like she belonged in the scene, but she also looked utterly bored. The only bit of amusement she had was the thought of her more conservative, religious, parents seeing her like this filled her with a shameful kind of excitement. But other than that the only attention she had gotten was from a few creepy guys that she really had no interest in dealing with, not that the free drinks she had scored that way were unwelcome. She had really been hoping to find a cute girl to spend the night with. “At least the music is good.” She murmured to herself slowly kicking her legs to the beat. She wasn’t a tall girl by any means, at most reaching up to the shoulders of an average sized woman.
There is a full excerpt of the story up for people to read on my Patreon page for anyone who pledges $5,00 and up.
