Well, that's not entirely accurate; the issue's with the technicolor humanoids, but the pun was too good to pass up.
In any case, Hasbro saw fit to unveil no fewer than seven EqG shorts on the day of the Season 8 premiere, on top of the two that trickled out recently. Unfortunately, I can't do a timely review of those shorts since, well, Season 8 premiered. At least I'm set for a week should we get an intraseasonal hiatus.

More shorts? At least I have more free time than usual, so I can probably watch them all today.
How old are these students, anyway? Didn't Sunset Shimmer win the Fall Formal three years in a row before the EQG movie? And yet, Rainbow Dash is certain that Twilight Sparkle will see the teachers after only the three month break of summer.

Upon closer investigation, Sunset Shimmer has lost one Fall Formal to an unknown party, won one Spring Fling, won one Fall Formal, won one Spring Fling in which she went against Rarity, and lost to Twilight in the next Fall Formal.
I.e. the first movie begins the third year of high school for the Humane 7, and there are two princess crowns per school year, not one.

My personal explanation for that one is that those pictures weren't all for Fall Formals. Of course, that means that Sunset went from a pleasant facade to literal villainous cackling even faster, but I'm just fine with that.

At first I read that as "GladosDash". I could certainly understand someone setting Zephyr up with a homicidal marvel of surfboard engineering and Rainbow getting along just fine with her.
I've decided to wait until tomorrow (post-movestuff) to watch the new shorts.
I'm not saying I ship them, but Timber has better chemistry with AJ than with Twilight. It probably helps that he's not trying too hard to impress her.
