Signal Boost: S8 Leaks cause trouble on YouTube · 3:54pm Mar 27th, 2018
Here's an important signal boost I need to make:
As I just had to discover, a lot of the uploads of the songs "School of Friendship" and "Friendship Always Wins", as well as scenes, from the Season 8 Opener get currently blocked on YouTube. The songs have been uploaded by five different channels already and all but AstrumSpark had the uploads terminated seemingly almost instantly. The same happened to uploads of several scenes by Nonparry.
However, this isn't a reason to panic. It's just a usual YouTube hiccup. This unexpected occurence doesn't mean that Hasbro is suddenly against uploaded songs and scenes from the show. At first I feared this could be the case, but then I realized what is actually causing this: The recent S8 leaks.
Hasbro has an obvious interest to keep these leaks under wraps, so it went and put the leaks into the YouTube filter, to prevent the leaks from getting uploaded to YouTube.
Unfortunately, thanks to YouTube's broken system, this means that even legitimate uploads from the officially released episodes get targeted and blocked, as they are confused with the visual material from the leaks. This is something that isn't in Hasbro's interest, but merely a side effect of the YouTube Content ID filter not working properly.
So, if you have any uploads of songs or scenes from the Season 8 Opener that get blocked or got blocked already, file a dispute against the block and state as reason for the dispute that your videos are not uploads of the leaks, but parts of officially released episodes. Hasbro should take care of it then, lift the blocks and reinstate your videos, when it sees that you aren't trying to share the leaks.
If you can, please also help spreading the word and let the uploaders Sugarcube Corner (130fox), Nonparry, Kiara Cutie and ScootalooAndSweetieBelle, who had already uploaded the songs and some scenes but got them taken down, as well as the uploaders FluttershyNetwork, Letupita725HD and SpazzDHN, who have yet to upload the songs, know about this and tell them to do the same, so that this matter can get resolved quickly and the uploads return as fast as possible!
