Twilight, frankly because she's so relatable for me in her nerdiness and insecurities.
Pinkie Pie. She's fun, spirited, caring, smarter than some realize, and she makes me smile.
Fluttershy. I tend to relate to her shyness and kindness in a way that most of the others can't compare (Rainbow's Loyalty is really the only other one that could compare).
Rarity, definitely. The whole artistic drama queen kinda resonates, and staying up way too late to finish a project while the inspiration is still fresh. And I can totally understand how attached she is to her hair.

For the main part because I like the little mistakes that she makes that make her character
Mine is not even a pony. It is definitely Spike. And why? He is more mature for his age and he tries to be the voice of reason for his friends.
Mine is Thorax before he was reformed because of his innocence and I've always liked the original looks of the changelings.
I've really come to love Twilight Sparkle so much. (It's a little embarrassing but...) Twilight's personality would actually be the closest to what I would look for in a woman. She would be smarter than me (NEEDS to be), adorkable, passionate, compassionate, diligent, has vision, strong, always takes others' feelings into account, can have a few insecurities, a bit of an OCD, may sometimes let emotions get the better of her, but most importantly she has a heart.
And she's a nerd

I've got two, so I guess I'll just have to post them both!
I adore Luna because she has a great sister, so much story value, a feeling of mythology and magic to her moreso than the other ponies, and a personality that's infectious and interesting. She's a blast to write, and has a meaningful redemption tale that I don't see done often.
And I like Sombra. A lot. Writing him in general made him grow on me even more, but I like canon show Sombra too, but I'm pretty sure I included why I liked him in a blog a while ago.
Maud. Her deadpan personality is so hilarious when contrasted with basically any other character in the show.
Gilda. There's no questioning it.
Octavia:
Always been a huge enthusiast of music, this includes classical, giving me a sort of connection to her representation inside the show, and in the fandom. You often see her consumed with her passion for music, putting each and every fiber of her being into what she loves. Music is a way of communicating raw emotion, and I can't help but be drawn in by that part of her character when explored in the fandom. Not to mention episode one-hundred making her and Vinyl jump the shark, literally.
Not only do I like her for that, but I also feel attached to her because it's the pony most people associate me with. Write about a pony enough, and eventually they become tied to you.
Edit: I've been thinking on this, so I'd like to add it in.
Applejack and Fluttershy are two other characters I've grown to enjoy immensely as of late. Applejack's practicality, and honest and sincere nature is something to admire. I see myself becoming more like her as I understand just how fragile and fleeting life is. No point in being cruel, and dishonest when the time you have is a gift. That, and she and I both agree with how much we care for family and friends.
As for Fluttershy, she represents something often overlooked, kindness. Kindness is a strength in of itself. It's hard to do what you believe is right, or show some love to those you hate. Being able to empathize with others, and with nature, is one of the most humble and inspiring things someone can do. Anyone like that is a friend in my book.
I'd like to think the combination of both their traits is something missing in this world, or at least seems to be. If we were more like those two, perhaps the disassociation between us all would shrink in size?
I have two favorites. And I have no regrets for loving them.
Rainbow Dash Firstly. The reason why, is because she has such a cocky attitude and I love it. She's so caring for her friends. She does all that she can to help. Yes. She has her flaws. Everypony does. But I just can't not love her. There's just so much to love about that speedster. She's also one of the most protective of the Mane 6. Other than AJ. She's also the Element of Loyalty. And trust me, that pony can never stop living up to it. And not only that...she's her own little nerd. And it's adorable.
My second is Twilight. Why? Because she's an amazing pony with an amazing personality like Dash. She, like Dash, also does all she can to help somepony AND being the Princess of Friendship? Talk about amazing! Her personality, I feel, represents a mixture of all the elements. Kindness, Laughter, Honesty, Loyalty, and Generosity. There's so many things to love about that crazy alicorn. And I feel as if she is also like Dash. They get along so well. And yes, they can fight too, but its very rare for them. And when they read Daring Do together, I can't help but think, "Wow...how cute...lifesavers of Equestria...begin adorable nerds together." Their both their for all there friends, and that's an amazing thing.
That, is why I love these two nerds. Their just two amazing ponies who can never stop living up to their names and Elements. And its amazing.

I love a lot of these responses.
My favorite pony is Princess Luna. Even though she's made mistakes in her life, she still pushes forward to help others. I love the fact that she uses her past mistakes as a guidance to her subjects, like she did with the CMC and for the fact that her actions are never forgotten by her. She holds on to her mistakes to ensure that she will not make that mistake again (well until the episode "Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep". It made Luna somewhat of a wise sage to me. Someone would be fit for a mentor.
Besides her, it would be Trixie. Why you may ask? Why would an arrogant, conceited, boasting pony who wants to be the best, ever be a favorite of mine?
Well there you go.
Interestingly enough, I also like Adagio for somewhat similar reasons. It something about "power" in these characters that I really like.
For me, it's both Twilight and Apple Bloom. The two of them share great chemistry both as leaders of their respective groups and both show high levels of anxiety than anyone else. I always considered Apple Bloom as the Earth pony version of Twilight, but also, I kind of see a somewhat mother/daughter like bond whenever I see them together such as in "Bridle Gossip" & "Call of the Cutie". Especially when Twilight calls Apple Bloom "sweetie", man I love that.
Fluttershy.
First and foremost being she's the Element of Kindness. Who doesn't want kindness in their life?
Second being her personality. Of course she's timid, but she can also be strong. It's as though she represents what we all wish to be or are in real life. (Most of us, anyways.) The fact that she can be so awkward in some circumstances, but outspoken and bold in others is absolutely lovely.
Thirdly, because of her selfless care for animals. I adore animals, and I will and have done many things for animals myself. Anyone that puts nature over themselves in value and importance is a great person in my book.
And finally, she possesses graceful beauty that no other pony in MLP does. There's a reason she became a model despite not wanting to.
Rarity's definitely my favorite. Out of all the individual main six episodes she always has the best.
Pinkie. Her song says it all. She's fun. She's spastic. But most of all shes such a caring pony even if she can be a bit overbearing.
Also she might be a god in disguise....
Celestia. Coco Pommel. Tree Hugger. Limestone Pie. Applejack.
My favorite technically used to be the one i most hated and that's rainbow dash. The reason why is cause over the years she's had the most progressive development and I'll admit she can be cute as hell
Trixie, because she is a terrible person that never learns anything and I can identify with that.
Starlight. more character development than most of the main 6. And cute.
The silliest pony ever, Applejack.

second. Love Rainbow’s competitive and self confident nature, sometimes brash/misheievious personality, as well as her character design among other things.

My absolute favorite pony right now is a tie. Scootaloo and glim glam are tied for favorite. I like scoots a lot because of how the fandom has created so many fun back stories for her and that she might be able to fly on her own one day. I like glim glam because she’s a new main character that is a reformed villain. With that said, sunset shimmer also is tied for first because of how much she has changed over the course of the movies and how much I love anon a miss fics.
