    Bucket List Results

Remember the spring break bucket list I posted about a month ago? Well, it's time to look at the results. And I'd say I did quite well. Especially if you consider how much I added since the initial post. Who knows, I might be able to cross off a few more the next couple days, as my initial plan to be already playing Persona 5 Royal at this point took quite a hit.

    Goddammit Nintendo

Just casually releasing a new Direct.
And only half-revealing the next Smash fighter. Though I'm glad for the franchise.

Marwile watches SAO Part 5 "Abridged is better" · 10:09pm Apr 13th, 2018

During the last week I watched Alternate Gun Gale Online and SAO Abridged and read more than half of Gunsmoke by Wanderer D. The latter two are great examples that you can make great things out of SAO's world and the first one shows potential (mostly because it's written by a different person if I saw right). To be honest, I'm not sure I can go back to this after Abridged.

So, Kirito and Heathcliffe (leader of the biggest guild) fight each other because Kirito's taking Asuna away from them. Again, it was Asuna who asked Kirito to join him and it was her free choice, but her opinion doesn't matter to the author. And Kirito loses actually, because Heathcliffe also has a bullsh– unique skill. At least we get some catharsis by seeing Kirito getting his ass handed to him.

Anyway, Kirito has to join the guild and is sent to a training mission with two other knights. One of them is Kuradeel, an obviously evil guy Kirito humiliated in one of the episodes I skipped. The other guy, Godfrey, demands Kirito to give him all his safety crystals to make the training more "authentic", what he immediately does... I have no idea how Kirito managed to reach Lv 96.

They take a break and Kirito and Godfrey are poisened by Kuradeel. So, we won't elaborate on how he poisened the items in Godfrey's inventory? Alright. He kills Godfrey and proceeds to stab Kirito. At least he's smart enough not to keep talking. In the last second Asuna appears out of nowhere and beats up Kuradeel and even kills–

Wait, wait, sorry. That was the original script, which surely would have led to some interesting character development for Asuna.
In reality he pretends to be sorry, Asuna falls for it, Kirito loses a hand protecting her and then kills him with one punch. So, we won't elaborate on how Kirito manages to take a third of Kuradeel's health with one punch? Alright.

They share some generic anime couple talk and then go to soend the night in Asuna's home. So, we won't elaborate on how Kirito got his hand back? Alright. Asuna takes off her clothes but Kirito doesn't get it and so we skip to Asuna lying in bed (probably nude) and after more generic anime couple talk both decide to marry and take a break from fighting.

The next episode is Yui, right? Oh god, I'm definitely not ready for that...

And if you'll excuse me now, I also (finally) started watching My Hero Academia this week and need more (S2 Ep10 right now)

Edit: Can't believe I actually forgot the title of the blog...

SAO Abridged is maybe the best abridged ever made. I mean, I didn't believe it was possible to fix SAO but somehow the abridged managed. I can't wait to see the second half :twilightsheepish:

I totally agree. I originally only planned to watch the first few episodes and then wait until I caught up with SAO, but I couldn't stop. Not to mention it's totally hilarious while fixing the issues.
