Did anyone actually ask for this?

So apparently Playtonic is remastering Yooka-Laylee.

Who asked for this? Who thought this was a good idea?

    A few things, Playtonic:

    1. This game is only seven years old.

Will try and get an update or two out soon, but...

...These next two weeks at work are going to be stressful as hell.

I just have to say one thing, just to get it off my chest.

If any of my readers are private health inspectors with standards higher than local laws, I just have this to say:

    That is all.

    Good night.

    Tell Your Tale: P + P = BFFs

This week, we've got a... Somewhat touching Posey episode?

Think this would benefit from a longer runtime. I also laughed harder than necessary at Izzy in the very beginning.

I've Returned To A Game I Haven't Touched in 8 Years · 1:18pm May 1st, 2018

Some say it's the most overrated title in the NFS franchise, but to me, it's my most replayed, and my favorite.

...And something I'm getting ready to admit that we may never see again due to the direction gaming (and especially EA) is going.

Some may successfully debate and argue that Underground is better (and fans have been clamoring for a remaster of that for years), but to me, Need For Speed was always about the over-the-top police pursuits. Slamming into a roadblock at 200+ and driving away unscathed with dozens of 5-0 on your bumper. In short, if an NFS game doesn't have cops, I don't buy it. Underground was the sole exception.

Brady has been watching me replay some of it, including some intense pursuits, and he echoed my thoughts: "Why is it so hard for EA to replicate this?"

My honest answer: I don't know.

My honest guesses: Laziness, out-of-touch devs, microtransaction-obsessed publishers, cramming multiplayer into everything...

They certainly tried with Most Wanted 2012, but someone at EA or Criterion decided to molest Need For Speed with the Burnout formula., and it absolutely showed in the review scores. They also tried a modern take on Underground with NFS 2015, and that also received lukewarm reception.

So, what about just a facelift to 60fps and 1080p and 4k? Well, EA doesn't do a lot of remasters. The most recent one announced was Burnout Paradise, which to me, was the worst Burnout they could choose to give a remaster treatment to.

Oh well, if NFS continues to sputter on the starting grid, at least my 13-year old MW2005 disc still works...

...Because it isn't available digitally on any PC or console marketplace. Go figure.

I personally disagree. While EA is pretty much done at this point, there's still a number of companies turning out good and even excellent single player games and even some multiplayer games.

That's what I meant. Of course there are still stellar single player experiences (playing through Horizon Zero Dawn, and God of War is certainly on my buy-soon list).

I was merely talking about a remaster of Most Wanted 2005 in this case. EA is the worst of all when it comes to shoehorning multiplayer and microtransactions into anything, and they have also come out and blatantly claimed that players are not interested in single player anymore.

Which need for speed title is it though
Hot Pursuit 2?

Well it is owned by disney

Ah. I've seen a lot of people claiming single player experiences are dead, so I wasn't entirely sure the extent of your thoughts on it.

I need to partially disassemble my PS2 and clean out the laser. At least I hope that's the only problem it has preventing discs from being read.

"Six days ago: Entering Rockport City..."

"First I'm gonna take your ride, then I'm gonna take your girl!"

"Hey, there's something wrong with your ride! You left a huge oil slick at the start line. You have to end the race fast!"

"Blacklist #1: Clarence "Razor" Callahan
Car: BMW M3 GTR
Bio: You know what you gotta do..."

"I want everyone after this guy."
"Everyone?"
"EVERYONE!!!"

This game was a fucking masterpiece and the cheesy live-action cutscenes only made it better.
