Where have I been. · 3:56am May 7th, 2018
Hey everyone. Sorry for being so quiet on here for a while. I think I should give you all at least some explanation as to what is going on and why things have been quiet here.
First off, I’ve been making a routine/ schedule for myself and my writing. I’ve restricted myself to weekdays to write as to prevent burnout. After trying to write every day, I realized that I can’t do it each day. So I decided weekends and certain days I’d take the time off to relax my brain and just enjoy my own life outside of my laptop.
Second, I’ve been gaining more of a social life. Spending time with friends and making new friends as well. Got back into playing Pokemon TCG as well as more D&D. Been trying to get back into a writing group as well, though I feel as if I don’t fit in.
Third, I got my first major writing gig. I wrote for popgeeks.net covering PAX East 2018 and was offered to stay on as a contributor. So I finally hit the big time, though on a small site for now. I also write and edit for Mystery Brony Theater 4000 and am usually on their Sunday streams. It’s honestly the only mlp thing I do anymore.
Fourth and probably one of the biggest ones, I’ve set my focus on articles. They pretty much help me grow career wise and will help me get where I want to be.
Finally, I’ve just lost interest in writing fanfics for now. I’ve been hating what I’ve been doing with them along with just losing interest with the source material itself. Is this my “I’m leaving.” post? No, the creative writing side of me is just sleeping and won’t be back for a while. I may gain interest with the show again, but not now. Right now my focuses and interests lie in other things. Retro stuff, gaming, anime, just recently, Pokemon GO, my girlfriend, and bettering myself.
You guys have been awesome since I started this journey years ago. I’ll be active on the site, though just more reading and interacting if I feel like it. If you want to read my articles, I’m on popgeeks.net as Justin J and retro-daze.net as ThatDudeintheHoodie. On Twitter, @_JustinJ26 . You can also see me on BronyState and Cinemaquestria in the chats.
So yeah, that’s what’s been going on with me. So until whenever, see ya and hope to keep in touch.
