Thoughts on "Parent Map" · 9:04pm May 14th, 2018

Hehe. Sunburst, the first non-Ponyvilian to be called by the map. I can foresee in the future the map trolling someone to come to Ponyville, only for the map to tell to go to the place they just came from, like what happened with Rainbow Dash, twice. :rainbowlaugh: I can't wait for that.

Spike, was EXTREMLEY annoying in this episode. Nothing annoys me more than when someone exaggerates their accomplishments and inflates their ego. Ugh. :facehoof:

Sunburst, you really need to get your nose out of the books, and exercise situational awareness for damn sake. :ajbemused:

So, we get to meet Sunburst's and Starlight's mom and dad respectively...I wonder what happened to other two parents. I hope they were not divorced or something.

I have to say, *looks at the credits* Fire light's treatment of his daughter was funny, especially when he put that rag around her head. That was so adorable. :rainbowkiss: And Starlight....was she a goth and rock metal enthusiast or something, cause her room got the signs of a rebellious teenager. Makes sense since she decided to, I don't know, mess with time and create a communist town, yeah...

As for Stellar Flare...who's down right gorgeous for an older mare...her plans for the town gave me....Walle vibes. She needs to slow down and think this through.

I just realize, Fire Light is a historian while Stellar is an innovator, with the cringy aspects on display....are the writers trying to say something. :duck:

As for the plot. I kind of saw where this was going, but it was still a fun ride. The one that hit me in the feels, was when Stellar said to Sunburst, "I remembered how lost you were when you flunked from school." ...Jeez...that hits pretty close to home. I can relate to that. I'm gonna hug my mom after this.

Anyways, I enjoyed this episode and will watch it again.

The episode was interesting for sure. Now Sunburst is by far my least favorite character in MLP, basically I can't stand him. This episode did make him not quite as bad, it is really a matter of how the writers use him.

His mother, like Twilight Velvet, has aged gracefully for sure. Now I'm certainly not going to go saying "she's hot" like some people in the fandom do though. One problem I have is that there was too little time in the episode, the fact that she along with Firelight went from being adversaries to working together to make the town better was a negative but overall I liked the episode.

One thing the episode did do though was ruin what I thought Starlight's family would be like. I always imagined her as having loving WORKING CLASS PARENTS, not what seems to be an upper-class mother and Celestia knows what happened to the mother. Sunburst's mom however, she was pretty much exactly what I thought she would be like.

WHY AM I YELLING!?!

Is the reason you can’t stand because of how underutilized he is or you just find him annoying? If it’s the latter, totally understandable.

“Upper-class mother”

I think you meant father, but I understood you. As for what you predicted about how Stellar might be, you must be psychic. 😈
