As I've come to learn via my Discord server, something bizarre has happened. In fact, it is so bizarre that the only thing that could make it seem normal is if I remembered my other email password and actually bothered to check it, or browsed Equestria Daily, well, daily.
Because, my weird cult of followers, apparently, the revised (yes, it had a revision I forgot to blag about) of All That Lingers got its paranormal romance ass on Equestria Daily.
EDIT: It already got another favorite? Jeez, that was fast.

Long story short, a very long history of EQD rejecting great stories and featuring boring pieces of garbage means pattern recognition kicks in and I avoid features.
As for the story, I did like it the first time around so I'm sure the cleaned up version is still good (assuming you didn't make any major changes in the cleanup). I just don't really reread stories in general, so I don't see any reason to read it again.

It's basically grammar stuff since I don't rewrite stuff that much based on rather subpar standards. I'll make adjustments though.
And while I totally understand that perspective so so much (most of my stuff fails) I've seen great stories on there too. So I can give recommendations.

Yeah, that's what I figured. You always find more little mistakes looking at it again years later. That's just the way editing works.
Eh, I've just seen too many horror stories of great fics failing for absolutely moronic reasons (the "best" was a Lord of the Rings crossover getting rejected for mimicking Tolkien's writing style) to trust their judgement, and on the occasions a featured story has sounded good enough for me to try anyways I've always been seriously disappointed in spite of going in with restrained expectations. Also, it is true that there are a few great stories on there, but those generally got in back in 2011 before EQD went stupid and can keep getting automatic features for sequels as a result.

Yeah, they're nuts, and frankly best ignored by the fanfiction community. This site has plenty of ways to show good stories, especially since people like me have the flexibility to advertise stories we think are particularly worthy of attention.

Most of my stuff slips under the radar, but if you like Sombra and All That Lingers, you'll probably like my regular stuff. There's a Sombra/Cadance friend duo in there, and they partly served as inspiration for All That Lingers.
