Spitfire and Sunburst are cousins. They're an unlikely pair, but they make do with what they have.

    some cover arts

Hi there! Been hellishly busy lately, especially now that everything's returning to some variation of normal.

Did a fair bit of ponywords in spite of that, both new and old. Though I haven't really been keeping you guys up to date on the deetz since... Christmas, looks like. Time to rectify that.

    Merry Christmas!

I had been busy prepping something thematic for the occasion but alas, I couldn't finish in time.

    So have another story instead!

    a quick September / October check-in

First off, not dead! That's a start!

Second off, got vaxxed, which may or may not have played a part in the whole not being dead thing. Aftermath of the first jab was hell. Second one apparently was too, according to my upper arm. Otherwise, all's good!

In The Spirit Of Rambling (21/5/2018) · 10:02pm May 21st, 2018

Hiya! Just littering some words here, about story updates, life, music and other things I can think up off the top of my head.

Why's that? Cause I came down with a flu some days ago. My mind's never in the right place even in the best of times, so whenever I caught something like this, I'd become what's best described as a domestic nuisance. It's not something I wanna get close to any of my stories. Well, maybe except for Vignettes, because that's basically what happens if my rambles put out something productive and cohesive enough to slip past the scrutinizing gaze of mods and admins.

Anywhos, I promised rambles, so shall I deliver.

Holy heck, this is neat.

The Panthalassa Section!!!!

Currently working on the cold tundra regions of Chapter 3 of Panthalassa. Well, formerly working, considering my flu. I'll get back to it once I can taste my coffee again.

I'm crying inside.

Gonna introduce some more characters that'll be joining Moondancer in her wayward expedition in this chapter. Still trying to flesh some stuff out for their backgrounds. There'll be some conversations to be had to start everything off past the whole incident in Chapter 2, with one in particular where she talks to the princesses to connect that with her whole ocean gig. After that point, the real story starts to happen, in which case I'll introduce a bit more ponies, and then it's off to the freaky deaky. Dunno if it'll all happen in Chapter 3, or if it would extend to Chapter 4. Still gauging the length of everything I've planned.

The ending is in sight, as with every other unfinished story under my belt. As mentioned, there will not be a happy ending. Nothing ambiguous either. It'll be flat out tragic, plain and simple.

Flu's clearing up a bit now, but I still can't taste my coffee.

Seriously, I'm kinda amazed at how much talented people are out there.

So, I'm still working on the musical I mentioned like a thousand times before. Probably not the most effective way to stay afloat, especially since opening night is only on July. I'm still waiting for them to get me back on some boxes I've ordered for our set. That alone already cuts half of the budget reserved for my use, so yeah.

In the meantime, I'm also working on some projections to be displayed on the screen in the background. It's a little rough around the edges, especially since I have no idea how some parts of the scene would be staged yet. That, coupled by the fact that I'm responsible for the lights and sounds of the whole thing, really makes me a little crankier than I usually am. I'm already a lazy person at heart, so it's kinda tugging at my nerves a bit.

Nevertheless, I do enjoy what I'm doing, no doubt about that!

They've announced an anime adaptation for To The Moon.

I'm excited. A little bit too excited, I think. I'm really hoping it'll do the story justice. Also hoping that there'll be something of a stylistic embellishment beyond the usual anime shtick. If done well, then many tears shall be had, both for the story and in the name of great art.

Speaking of anime, what the heck is happening in Darling In The FranXX? Every damn week, the episodes are gut-wrenchingly good! I really gotta give credit to the minds behind creating this show. From being not so invested by it on episode 1 to obsessively keeping track of every nook and cranny this show dishes out... it's amazing what this is really all about.

Aside from that, it's kinda crazy when you realize the state that anime is in now. There were so many dream announcements made that five years ago would've been unthinkable. Grand Blue was one, Vinland was another (oh heck yes), Promised Neverland as well (oh heck yes). Even Index and FLCL has been brought back to life! Flipping FLCL!! I would say that we're living in an anime Renaissance, but I don't know how accurate that statement would be. I'm definitely keeping track of the things I'm watching next season, especially since this season's already shaping up to be great. Not Made In Abyss or Land of the Lustrous great, but great nonetheless.

Also, that one movie. Maquia. Heard great things. Waiting anxiously for it to come out.

I've been playing the latest Far Cry recently. The story seems pretty ehhhhhh, but my god, the aesthetic, the feel, the 'everything else but the plot' of the game was just perfect. The music in particular really won me over into playing it, though it's really hard to hear with all the shooting and roaring plane engines all around.

Overall, I'm really enjoying the game. Not really into the whole Arcade biz tho.

I've also started playing this game on my phone called Sdorica. Well, I said I've started, but I've been into this for almost a month now. There's surprisingly a lot of stuff to do, though I have to admit, it's kinda like a character collector game, and it does get a bit grindy. Nevertheless, I'm having a lot of fun with it! If anyone's on there, PM me!

Here's basically what it looks like.

Alright! Done rambling for the night!

Here's hoping my flu clears up tomorrow! I'll leave you with some music I've been listening to lately, some abrasive, some not so much.
