I'm Really Bad at this Writing Stuff

At the end of October I made a calendar. On that calendar where deadlines of all the stuff I was writing.

Today was supposed to be the release of the second chapter of a brand new story. Obviously, that's not here.

    9 Years

I was sitting in computer class at collage when a group of students started sniggering to themselves. There were four of them. The larger two lacked chins and hair held flat to their heads by grease, one was a built like a wall, road a Harley-Davidson and had the same name as a famous whisky brand, and the third, the smallest of the lot and who played lead guitar in a band, currently had his head

Rediscovering the Joy of Reading and Writing

For the last 8 months (I can’t believe how fast this year has gone!) I have barely been reading or writing. A constant tied of other commitments, work, studying and other such distractions has occupied my time. In the moments where I do get a chance to breath and start reading or writing, I often fail to do so. Instead it’s far easier to watch meaningless YouTube or play games. It’s not work,

    An Update

It's been six months since the last update!?

Yeah... It has. I don't know where the time has gone.

When I started writing Fallen Canterlot I told myself I would try for a new chapter every 2-3 weeks, and I was able to keep that going. But then I got a job. Now it's 2 years later and the story isn't even half way done.

One Year of Fallen Canterlot · 6:35pm Jun 25th, 2018

So, a year ago today I released the first chapter of Fallen Canterlot, and what a journey it has been.

I started off hoping that each chapter would be released every two weeks, and for a while I kept to that. But then I got a job. And then more life got in the way. So, in short, I'm so sorry that the updates have been very few and far between this year.

Rest assured, that chapter 9 is in the works and is currently going through its second draft. If all goes well it will come out within the next 2 weeks.

I've learned a lot with my time writing. Mostly it's crippling doubt that my story is any good and the plot is going in a good direction (The outline has been rewritten many times). Writing is hard. Writing good is harder. And the more I wrote, the better I thought I would get, but instead I just kept doubting myself.

Another reason why I haven't written much is because, simply a lot of my free time has been taken up working on the Equestria at War mod for the game Hearts of Iron 4. I recommend you check it out if you're remotely interested in the game.

Still, I have found my pace again and I am currently working on the next chapter. Thank you everyone who has read, favourited, liked and commented on Fallen Canterlot. I hope that you can just stick with me a bit longer.

See you all later.

That.
And don’T worry thoise of us still remembering you are here, do like your story.

Now get back to writing and enjoy some cake and coffee/tee/ hot chocolate.

As I've told you before, you shouldn't worry so much. You write well, and while there's always room for improvement that doesn't mean you have to be too hard on yourself either. Everyone tends to go through the same thing you do when writing, and doubt is normal. Doesn't mean you're a bad writer at all, or aren't improving. Also while you may not have maintained the update rate you wanted, 82K of story in one year is still pretty impressive. There are novels around that length. You're doing great man.

You should’ve learned by now, that some of us here stand loyal to those we deem worthy.
