Let's Talk the Equestria Girls Digital Series Timeline (Part 2) · 4:15pm Jul 10th, 2018

Okay, now that "Rollercoaster of Friendship" (aka "Me, My Selfie, and I") has aired, and we can reasonably assume it too will be split up into 5 parts like "Forgotten Friendship" was and later be put on Hasbro's YouTube channel, that means that between YouTube and the Discovery Family Go app, we've seen everything for Season 1 of this series and we can now put a reasonable timeline together. As I mentioned in Part 1 of this exercise, I'm pretty sure that the release order of this series of shorts and such is not the actual chronological order of events. And if you've been paying attention to everything, you can see that most of this season has been taking place at the end of the school year into the following summer. So let's finish this up for this first season of the EQG Digital Series.

As a reminder, unlike many, I am including the CYOE shorts in this timeline as most of the show staff has been indicating that they consider it part of the season rather than something separate. This isn't as big a deal as it sounds, as the majority of the CYOE shorts deal with the school play, which Rainbow Dash indicated in "Fluttershy's Butterflies" took place in the fall. So, with that in mind, here's where the timeline originally stood at the end of the first part of this exercise:

Five to Nine

Adding in "Rollercoaster of Friendship" is easy: It goes at the end. It's a longer story, it specifically states AJ and Rarity are trying to get summer jobs at EquestriaLand and overall, it works as a season finale. From the looks of things it's still early in the summer (I'd venture to say the second week of June), so if the next season decides to start things off still during summertime, it won't be hard to do and won't screw everything up.

However, one short does need to be moved around. Given Flash's need for help in math, and the Shadowbolts swim team losing a match, "Pinkie Pie: Snack Psychic" needs to be moved up in the timeline. Simplest way to do that is to squeeze it in right before Forgotten Friendship.

So the final timeline for Season 1 of this series looks like this:

The only things I can see that could be a trip-up are the events of Legend of Everfree and the resulting "Magic Trilogy" shorts. But other than that, I'd say this is as good a timeline as any (until Word of God states otherwise).
