I think Boats in Minecraft can break a sever... literally. They move too fast, therefore load too many blocks at once.
Maybe if I move a little further, stop for a bit, then move again. I can't believe something so simple as sailing to another island can break a sever. That... or I'm too far away from the sever as well.
So.... I think just better walk or swim everywhere then.
Gotta go fast.... breaks reality.
Man you should see what happens when you start playing modded minecraft. Stack a speed potion, a Planestrider's Sash, and some Boots of the Meteor and you start running into more unloaded chunks than loaded ones.

Good thing lag only exists in games, and not in fanfiction.
Imagine, if Celestias visited the human world, and her size caused the universe to lag....
Is this a fresh 1.13 server, or an old one upgraded? Mojang changed the chunk format, so (if the server owner didn't run the Optimizer on the world) the server is re-writing all the chunks when they're loaded. That's causing a butt-ton of lag. Mojang also messed with the Watchdog timer in the server (checks to see if the server crashed) and it now thinks an overloaded server is a crashed server, and shuts it down.

Draconic Evolution and/or Avaritia armor alone do that to a greater degree, but at least you get creative style flight from them, so you won't fall out of the world into the void.
