Nine Roman forts were built at the site, one on top of the other. When one fort was knocked down, a new foundation of clay was set, and a new fort built on top.

That is so very interesting! Those shoes look just like what the Princesses wear. I have to wonder if Lauren knew about these and incorporated them into the lore for each of them.

Unless, of course, Celestia was there with the Romans and they just copied the idea from her.
