*All statistics were gathered by hand and not double checked, and may not be 100% accurate.
Wait, how do the statistic work? because
can't possibly mean 210 stories right?
4934914
Two Sci-Twi stories in the Changing Seasons contest, 10 SciTwi stories in the Journeys contest.
It was formatted nicer when I edited the blog I swear.
4934914
There were 2 Sci-Twi stories for Seasons, and 10 for Journey.
So much lesbians

4934916
Now I get it, thanks.
4934919
14 straight ships out of 120 stories total, so this contest is about 88% gay
"I'll use Wallflower," I said. "No one's going to pick her," I said.
Some of these ships have me like uhhhhhhhhh
Zero Flash Sentry entries this time....
Zero...
Interesting.
--Spade
And for the second time I have the only Lemon Zest story
4934952
I guess I just didn't notice them.
4934922
Make it gayer!
It's sad there's half as much SunPie then there was last year.
4934955 Lemon Zest is a great ship. Be proud of it.
4934963
We have the technology.
*(Quietly feels special about writing the only Juniper fic of the second round)*

Why... How?
Decided to make a chart on Google Sheets. Feel free to update the chart with additional stats.

I had it on google sheets originally, actually. It just didn't paste well to fimfiction.

Blame Aragon.
The fact that neither Vinyl nor Octavia were represented in Journeys makes it extra disappointing that I didn't manage to get my Sunset x Octavia x Vinyl fic done.
I mean, honestly, I didn't expect to get it done considering how terrible August was for me, and to even hope to get it in wordcount I was going to have to chop it up into little bits and just take the first one (I am extremely verbose), and . . . stuff. But it's still kind of disappointing that me not finishing means that neither character got representation.
Then again, I've never understood the choices most people make in shipping Sunset. I've always thought that the most natural ships are Princess Luna for "We have so much in common" and human Rainbow Dash for "We complement each other well".
I don't think Sunset x Luna even existed before the previous Sunset Shipping Contest. (And it didn't make a repeat appearance here.)
Sunset x Human Dash gets a better showing, but it's completely overshadowed by ships that throw a "divide by cheese" error for me, like the huge and ongoing Sunset x Wallflower phenomenon.
Short version of all of this:
Cool stats, though I'm not entire sure how to feel about the fact that they conclusively demonstrate beyond all doubt I'm the oddball outlier when it comes to the part of fandom.

Like this, apparently
- Equestria Girls
- Romance
”You’re MY diamond dog, Spike.” Pretty much a love letter to Aragon. A really weird one.4934917
Fimfiction doesn't abide white space. Interestingly, and I didn't know this until just now, if you cut and paste the list, the tab stops are still tab stops in spite of displaying as mere spaces.
Anyway, random tidbits that aren't actually useful aside, pretty much the only thing you can do is make hyphen lines, and that's messy looking as well as being approximate at best in most fonts. You can make it exact by sinking it into a code block (code is displayed mono-spaced), but it still looks like crap and to do it every line needs to be its own code block.
Here's an example:
Sunset x... - - Changing Seasons - - - Journeys
Sci-Twi - - - - - - - 2 - - - - - - - - -10
Wallflower Blush- - - 0 - - - - - - - - - 8
Adagio- - - - - - - - 2 - - - - - - - - - 6
Princess Twilight - - 1 - - - - - - - - - 4
Rarity- - - - - - - - 7 - - - - - - - - - 4
Applejack - - - - - - 1 - - - - - - - - - 3
4935194
U wot m8? That's my crown!
Does that statistic include your entry or not, as I also had a Trixie entry this year.
4935318
It doesn't include my own
4934919
We need to pump those numbers up!
Correction: there were two Sunset-Applejack fics last time, mine and PaulAsaran's (Sunset in the Otherworld and The Fourth Season, respectively).
The top four I can see. They're all characters who Sunset spends a lot of time interacting with, and each of them takes quite a personal interest in Sunset Shimmer. (And, huh, in all four cases there's a protagonist/antagonist relationship there too, to at least some extent or at some point. Sunset is apparently a great character for Foe Yay.)
I hadn't expected to be writing for the second-most-popular ship in the contest (not remotely), but in retrospect it makes sense: the chemistry in Forgotten Friendship that I picked up on, the rest of the site picked up on too
I would really have expected Trixie to put in a larger showing, and probably Starlight Glimmer too. And I agree it's a pity there aren't any Luna fics this year.
But still, yay, and muhahaha Enjoy your marathon reading task, judges! I've read about a third of the entries already and there are some awesome stories in there, and I still want to read a good nother third or so
4934938
To be fair it was one of my favorite Sunset ships out of this contest.
I wrote that Smooze story without realizing that the only other fic on the entire site that ships Sunset Shimmer with the blob of goo was actually written for last year's Sunset Shipping contest. Darn, I was trying to take the 'outside the box' thing to heart as hard as I could
4934938
Wallflower was suggested in the contest description - that right there pushed me away from her as much as the expected Sunset ships (Sci-Twi, Trixie, Starlight, etc) out of concern they would be overdone, but as I say I focused a good bit on trying to be as unique as I could. This whole thing was a personal challenge for me tho. Win or lose, I wanted to see if I could make my chosen ship work
4935147
I didn't think Sunsarity was that popular; how is it the second most used ship across both contests?
