Shout to the World: NO to Articles 11 and 13! · 6:05pm Sep 20th, 2018
Hello, this is Obake. Please read this whole message, and spread the word.
Normally I don't get political. However, with recent events in the European Union (EU), I need to make my voice loud and clear: NO to Articles 11 and 13!
For those not in the know, Articles 11 and 13 are laws the EU has voted to pass (though not yet finalize.) These particular laws are a vague, yet overreaching set of rules meant to protect copyright, yet will inevitably censor the internet in all countries under the EU's jurisdiction. These Draconian rules include, among many things, "link taxes" (literally a tax for every link a site posts), and automated copyright identification for images and videos (which will undermine Fair Use.)
I have always advocated for a strong, open internet, that everyone is equal on. What the EU is voting into law is against the very moral of fairness and openness. I ask that you, dear followers, make your voices heard on the matter. If possible, call your MEP's or Congress, sign petitions, and spread the word! The internet has made global communication a reality. We can't let this valuable tool be throttled by unnecessary and unfair laws.
Thanks for reading, and God bless you all.

petitions do nothing
I hate all the damn censorship, I'm glad people are fighting!
