What can I say?

She's the Doctor.

She was the Doctor the second she showed up. Five minutes in, it was like she'd always been.

A Doctor hasn't felt this natural since David Tennant.

Just another reason why I loved David Tennant as the Doctor.

What are you talking about?

Let's just hope they don't fuck anything up.

Do you even Doctor Who?

*Shrugs* I'm blunt and snarky by nature, what can I say?

Seem I need to watch me some Doctor Who.

David Tennant was an actor who played one of my favorite Doctors.

cue the new doctor and derpy fanart....and shipping and sadly the porn

I’m recording the special edition of the premiere that is airing later tonight so I can watch it tomorrow. This is going to be so awesome. A new doctor, new companions, new tardis, and new adventures like never before.

I am so glad I got into Doctor Who years ago because it just keeps getting better for me. I know there might be some who will disagree with me but I enjoy every season and every version of The Doctor I have seen so far and I doubt this new Doctor is going to disappoint me.

Agreed.  Very similar energy to Tennant's tenth Doctor.  Makes me nostalgic, in a good way.

She reminds me of Matt Smith's Doctor's manic, often unfocused energy. It's a change from Capaldi's sometimes dour Doctor. I don't know how well having three Companions along for the ride will go, and I wonder if this season will be similar to the season of Red Dwarf where Lister, Rimmer, Cat & Kryton chased after the ship in Starbug.

I read somewhere that the new show runner said none of the "classic" Who villains will appear in Whittaker's first season, so no Daleks or Cybermen. I wonder if this means some of the newer foes, like the Weeping Angels or The Silence, will appear, or whether it's going to be all new monsters and baddies.

Haven't seen the premier yet, but the previews seemed promising. She did feel a bit more of a call back to the David Tennant Doctor personality in those, not exactly the same, but that same kind of vibe that made him enjoyable to watch.

Whoa, it’s that time of the year already? Stellar!

I was wondering why I liked her so much.

I agree, she was The Doctor the moment she fell through that roof, did not even skip a beat, she was always the Doctor.

I didn't expect anyone to top Tennant for me. I loved Smith and Capaldi, but Tennant was just - mine, you know?

And I will always adore Tennant, but...well, we'll give her a couple more episodes just to make sure, but...I think she's taken that mantle. I mean, just, the sheer amount of joyous validation that entire episode was on so many levels...

And especially The fact the entire episode is, in part, a thinly veiled allegory about gatekeeping fans who want to be forever catered to, and resist all change - aka the "The Doctor can't be female!!" segment - including that delightful bit that is basically a giant fourth wall break of 'Hey, everything can change but the core of who we are is still there, so even if you were one of the haters, we're inviting you to let that go and join the ride - will you?' was amazing.

But mostly, gosh, just the giddy sense of like 'Oh my gosh, someone whose so much me' and well I mean, it's like seeing a slightly sassier Pinkie Pie as The Doctor now and that's amazing too.

...And her outfit. I love it.

You'll note that she said it's been a mighty long time since she had to pick out women's clothing. Guess Missy wasn't lying about knowing the Doctor since s/he was a little girl.....

Probably has less to do with Missy and more to do with Romana.

Oh. Right. The other person I wish had made it into Nu-Who.....
