Obligatory health update and creative block breakthrough. · 1:47am Oct 12th, 2018
So first things first, I got my MRI results today.
Despite the usual mutant brain bit, nothing has changed. No signs of any long lasting damage, my disturbingly deviant mutant developed brain is still exactly as it was when I last got scanned. So the cause of my health issue is not a brain thing.
I repeat it is not a brain thing! It is not a brain thing! You have no idea how happy I am about this.
Anyway, I have another appointment on Monday, next week, and my doctor and I will discuss other possible causes of my illness. They boil down to hormone thing, or internal bleeding thing. Both of which are infinitely better than a brain thing.
Also I broke through my creative block due to the help of some wonderful fellow authors, well sort of. It seems I can’t write anything that isn’t medical related, so I’m rolling with that and have started a prologue story to a medical thriller mystery story inspired by...
Kingdom Hospital by Steven King, because it’s me and you should all expect this from me by now.
Now keep in mind the last story I made that was somewhat inspired by Steven King was Perfect Green. This one will move more slowly, the prologue story will set up the background plot narrative and two primary main characters. The main story with the first few chapters will be out in November or December.
Now that brings us to something else being continued in November besides turkeys, that will be my new sci-fi saga Drifting in Time, and Dark Shines the eldricht saga that I started right before I fell ill again. As well as A Timber Tale.
For the rest of October I’ll be publishing random dark and horror stories, the second chapter of The Transitory Room, a few comedic eldricht bits, some psychological horror, and finally publishing that story about bubbles I started a year or two ago. These won’t have a set release time, because the fatigue from my current condition prevents that. But I will get some of these out, most of them will have filler cover art though.
That’s it, I’m going to take a rest now.

Happy to hear it! Hope you can recover.
*cheers* That's good news, Glen! May the next appointment bring better!
(raises eyebrow) You have my attention - Kingdom Hospital is my favorite film/TV project of King's. (My favorite printed work of his is actually not one of his novels/collections, but rather the non-fiction book Danse Macabre.)
Oh? Which story inspired that one?
Until next time...

There was more than one Steven King story inspiration. Two not mentioned in the subtitles are Needful Things, specifically the exchange of services with a mysterious entity, and Fair Extension for obvious reasons. It ended up merged with Celtic inspiration, a little bit of the classic The Monkey’s Paw, and a whole lot of my very dark brain. Then it took on a life of its own really.
Kingdom Hospital is a favorite of mine, it’s so mind bending and entrancing that you end up watching it over and over to catch what you missed the first time. Also I spent a ton of time growing up in hospitals, so it made a twisted sort of sense to me. The full main story that The Transitory Room is the prologue to will focus on investigating “the place”, and the day to day events, eventually unveiling secrets yet leaving others to be pieced together by the readers. Similar to Kingdom Hospital in a sense, but the cause and motives are very different as is the nature of “the place”. Also I’m of the personal opinion that the Kingdom Hospital from the series isn’t a mere place, but something else entirely. And that when one location is “cured” it just moves on to another.

The next appointment is on Monday, so we will see how it goes.
I’ve been exhausted for the last few days so no new content till Monday or Tuesday. It’s not lack of ideas this time, just lack of energy.

So do I, I’m tired of being sick and sick of being tired.

Ah...
Know the feeling - I caught a couple of episodes when it first aired, and rented (and later bought) the full series from the Blockbuster I used to work at. I re-watch it every few years or so, because it's one of my favorite King works - it's probably the only King work I've really watched on my own multiple times. (My mother, on the other hand, much prefers The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile, the latter being what really introduced her to King's works - before that, she'd dismissed him as a pure horror writer, but The Green Mile showed her he did more than just horror.)
Until next time...

I feel your pain. Not nearly to your extent, but allergies or a cold or flu, whatever is bothering me has left me coughing, sneezing, and choking on my own phlegm for well over a week now. It just won't go away.

So happy to hear you're doing well, Glen! I should have given you a watch last time we talked, but I was able to find you again with a little digging!! Have no fear, I'll be watching you this time
And hey! Another Stephen King fan!! I haven't read Kingdom Hospital specifically, but I'll sure be happy to read whatever you come up with. Happy writing, my friend!!

It’s a good read and tv series.
I near worship Steven King honestly, he’s one of the most amazing horror writers still living, and a master of the craft. Also he’s been through so much, including a car crash that almost killed him and more, so he was a childhood inspiration of survival against the odds too. I hope I get well enough to publish a collection before he passes on, and get a positive review from him. It’s a life goal of mine.
I’ve been stuck all week with health stuff, and bills (a true nightmare) so the second chapter is going up Friday, as in tomorrow, instead of today. I finally settled on how to set the feeling for the series, and the second main character, but not give too much away. Editing in my head before setting it on paper stuff. It’s important.
