Why is this Getting so Many Comments? · 2:28am Oct 24th, 2018
Apparently a very interesting pony. (source)
I might've made a mistake pushing to get my Villain Exchange Program story in by the deadline. 10K words in two weeks is... it's a lot for me, and editing was hasty. It's okay. I do dumb stuff all the time. Contests are my kryptonite -- my usual writing process is interminable; I only ever publish things because I'm working on so MANY things at once that periodically one of them gets done. Having to make a deadline... well. It complicates things.
None of that is what this post is about.1
The THING IS. Tempest Shadow: Mooby Road is currently my fourth least popular story, above only Hot Harvest, Toola Roola Paints a Picture2, and Tender Blood3. It is, however, my 8th most commented on! At 125 views and less than 20 votes, up or down, that's a little bizarre4. What is so interesting about this clearly not very interesting story?
This is where I confess something horrible: I have mixed feelings about getting comments on my stories? I know, I know, most authors are dying for them. But getting comments from strangers is awfully close to talking to strangers. Its terrifying. I typically dispatch friends to read comments/reviews/whatever on my stories, so I can tell if there was any useful feedback without having to brave social anxiety.
I could turn the comments off, but that seems so rude!
ANYWAY. I'm pretty sure I melted my brain trying to get my original novel done this year. Melted my brain. I keep mixing up my dogs' names. The two dogs are very distinct -- big doggo is three times the size of smol doggo, and thirty times less chill. I should be able to at least get their names right, I feel.
Seriously smol doggo is so chill.
Will ANY of this keep me from writing more fanfic? It will not.
1 So why did I write it?
2 Both brilliant and you should got read and upvote them.
3 Terrible; please do me a favor and go downvote it. You don't even have to read it, in fact I recommend you don't. I need to be punished for this story. I need it so bad.
4 Mind you the story is less than two days old right now. A lot of my stories have a very long tail -- though typically the pornos, where people go looking for their fetishes. I've written a lot of different fetishes, most of which I don't have. Honestly I'm not even all that crazy about sex in general. I just like writing smut for some reason.
I have never (with all my clearly VAST experience) understood people's reactions. I mean if you're favoriting it you could also upvote it right? If you dislike it enough to mark so can you maybe say WHY? And so on and so forth.
Anyway, can't blame me for this. I upvoted it, so there. It was a good story with much potential to follow up, imaginary or actual.

See, you get it. Like, upvote and comment. Or downvote and comment, I guess if you have to. How hard is that?
