So, for starters, Windows 2000 seems to be much more stable with Nvidia drivers than Windows XP was.
I'm currently installing the unofficial Windows 2000 update rollup 2 pack, which installs every update to the OS ever released until the end of support.
Secondly, once that's done I'm gonna install the unofficial Windows 2000 kernel update that basically spoofs programs and drivers into thinking it's Windows XP, in order to get both Google Chrome 34 and a wifi driver installed from the XP drive that was formerly in the computer.
Also, I've temporarily replaced the DVD-ROM drive that came in the computer with a much faster DVD-RW drive from LG just for the sake of my sanity when installing things from disk. Once everything's installed though, I'm swapping the drives back. I've already got working USB as well, so at the moment my main concerns are internet connectivity and program compatibility.
Also, I left the floppy disk with the ethernet drivers in my shed, and it's freezing outside at the moment, so wired networking probably won't be coming around until tomorrow.
EDIT: Finished all updates with no problem. I'm now installing the kernel update spoofer thingy, which requires IE6 to be installed because it provides some of the updated files it needs to use.
