Where has ScifiPony Been? (If Wishes were Ponies—Story recommendation) · 1:14am Nov 19th, 2018

By now, you probably expected another installment in my Be an Author series. I was ill for a few days with a stomach bug with nothing to do and chanced (gasp, only chanced) on a story on the front page. I read 300,000 words over the next three days. This story is now my favorite of all I've read on this site, and I cannot recommend it more than to say, read it. If you have read Harry Potter and you're also an SF and/or Fantasy genre reader, you cannot do better to spend the hours. It's binge-worthy. This story is written with incredible competence and with prose (except for some EATS—Extremely Annoying TypoS) that is invisible in the face of a riveting plot. The author's take on our favorite MLP characters is top notch, with invididual agendas that drive them to act at the best of their abilities through the long not-yet-complete story. Harry Potter and his cohort, and historic and fiction figures in England at the time of the first Harry Potter book get a similar competent take. This is publication quality work, but for the copyrights on the materials in question that would prevent actual publication of the resulting books this represents. This author has demonstrated he is better than many published authors in the genres I mentioned.

Read it.

TIf Wishes were Ponies . . . .
Harry Potter, after a beating by Dudley and friends — with the help of a real gang member — wishes he had somewhere safe to go, and starts crawling home. He ends up in Equestria. The CMC find him. A year later, an owl brings his Hogwarts’ letter!

Heh, binge-worthy indeed...:rainbowlaugh:

I didn't sleep one day, reading the whole of it - and now I'm suffering as I wait for my next fix.:pinkiecrazy:

I know! Seriously good author, with great takes on Twilight and the CMC. Ought to be out selling bestselling genre books, but I ain’t complaining he’s spending time writing this one.
