Why Some Don't Like The Show (ABTM) · 4:37am Jan 1st, 2019
Note: This has also been posted in the Writers Group, if you want to read it there.
Throughout my time as a brony, I have come across many a person. Some good, some bad, some ugly but beautiful on the inside. You've got your fanatics, you've got your sexual driven teens, and those who show just how wonderful this fandom really is.
But... what about the fan who isn't a fan? The ones who have a love-hate relationship with MLP? By this, I mean the people on fimfiction who don't like the show but enjoy the company of those who do and enjoy reading fanfictions of the My Little Pony Franchise. These are an interesting bunch, and being one myself, I think it's about time that someone set down the reasoning behind this down in black and white.
--------
So how is it possible for someone to actually find this site and enjoy while disliking the show? Well, the usual case is their first interaction with our little group of friendship loving, multi-colored, ponies was through fimfiction itself. If not, and they found the site afterwards or were told about it, then they likely just have a very open mind. Either that or they were tied up and forced by the fanatics we talked about earlier.
So why? Why do we not like the show. Myself? I just find the show somewhat childish. Not because it doesn't teach you anything, but because it simply feels like a child's cartoon. After all, the show was originally made for kids. Of course some people would question the sanity of watching a show meant for children. I am still watching the show, but only to keep myself informed on the events.
There must be something else though, right? Sure, a show can seem childish, but there has to be more reasoning behind this. Well, there is a one, and lucky you, I'm willing to reveal it. Not everyone believes it, but there is hidden images behind the screen during the show. Likely the reason the show has so much sexual appeal (side note: if you want more info as to why the show has so much sexual appeal, I'll have to do so in a blog, not here unless given permission).
Does this mean you should stop watching the show? Not exactly. Put it this way, just because you have met a beautiful woman, it does not mean your thoughts will immediately go to her beauty. So, to be honest... watching the show could do anything. It's simply another risk in life, and whether it's worth risking is up to you. Make the decision you feel is right.
In conclusion, I guess all I can say is that, in the end, it all relies on preference and opinion. Everyone's different, some are the same, whether by color, mind, life, and/or name.
May your day be long and good.
