Two of Three Subjects for the Price of One · 1:46pm May 8th, 2019

As I likely said so many times when approaching a certain number, I can hardly believe I came this far.
Anyway...I’ve been formulating what to do with this post for some time. So many subjects have been coming to mind for what to do with it, those subjects being if I wanted to use it to show you all a couple of original paintings that I made recently, to make a couple of important announcements, or to show you all my “22nd & 23rd Favorite Videos Made by a Brony or Pegasister”.
But then it hit me!
Why not make a post that has two of each subject for the price of one!
And so, that’s what I decided to do, and here they are:
The first thing I’ll be starting with will be showing you all my 22nd and 23rd Favorite Videos Made by a Brony or Pegasister. This showing here will also be a slight comeback to posting videos that aren’t crossovers, as all two of them are ones based on songs from Disney’s “Moana”.
This first video right here was made by YouTube user Geo Wiz. It stars Twilight in role of Moana herself singing “How Far I’ll Go”. Let me tell you guys this: This video is so amazing! And beautiful! Twilight fits the part of Moana perfectly, and the way everything was executed was completely mind-blowing! As a matter of fact, every moment and clip that was used matched with every lyric and timing, especially to where you could almost think this wasn’t fanmade.

This second video that I’m showing to you all was made by YouTube user TangerineBlast, who also has his own FiMFiction account. In this video, our favorite Lord of Chaos, Discord, stars in the role of Maui, singing the song “You’re Welcome”. In all honesty, just like the last PMV I showed you guys just now, this video was extremely awesome. Discord fit the part of Maui perfectly, and everything was wonderfully executed and perfectly timed! It was truly a fun video to watch.

The second part of this post...will be of my latest paintings.
These paintings right here are a couple of new original paintings that I had made recently, each of which I was inspired to make based on certain shapes coming to mind:
This first one was something without even using a piece of paper to practice with. I just winged it. I made this one because I wanted to do a painting revolving around squares, and I wanted to make something that was in a checker board sort of pattern. I’m sorry about taking this picture in such a low lighted place, the lights in the room I was in were malfunctioning.
This second one here was something that I made based on wanting to do a circle painting (Crazy Eights doesn’t count, even though it is a number with a couple of circles bunched together and small circles in the center of them). I originally planned on it being a target, but I ran into some complications making it. So, I went with what I have now.
I know I said that I was going to be taking a hiatus from painting to focus more on my writing, but, I couldn’t help but create these two paintings here, as well as paint a few spots a day on a paint-by-number.
Now, it all comes down to the final part and subject of this post: my announcements.
First off, I’d like to reveal to you all something that is completely related to one of the fanfics I’m currently developing, which is the Storm King story that’s in the works. As I said on my 200th post, I was originally going to call it “The Beginning...of the Beginning (Or, How and Where the Storm King Got the Staff of Sacanas)”. However, at the suggestion of GivingSpider and Jade Dawn, I decided to give it a much better title for it.
And so in the comments section, the three of us put our heads together, with the two of them giving me tons of creative title ideas. Some of them were ones that I didn’t want to use because they seemed to be better suited for other stories about the Storm King and didn’t fit the one I was currently working on.
Finally, however, the three of us came up with the perfect name for the story. Now, my current Storm King story will be called “Gathering of the Storm”, which perfectly fits a story detailing the threat of the oncoming Storm King before the beginning of the film. I owe it to Jade and Spider for helping me out with it all.
My second and final announcement today...is that starting in June, I’ll be enrolling in an art class. A big part about why I’m enrolling in one is so that I can learn how to create my own original paintings, outside of ones of shapes and patterns. In the painting section of my brain, there have been things that I always wanting to create without following instructions. However, the hardest part is that I’m really good at painting, I’m not very good at tracing my own pictures to paint afterwards.
But that’s why I want to take the class, so that my ability as an artist can be diversified and so that I can create bigger paintings that I can actually call my own. I did try drawing my own pictures using some books that show how to draw, but, it just wasn’t working.
So, as you can see, I’ll be making my largest leap as an artist next month by finally learning how to get my hands to create drawings. My only prayers concerning that would be that God will be with me as I learn and that He can guide my hands and head into creating beautiful things for the world.

Yeah, that "You're Welcome" song totally fits Discord.
I remember I saw another version where it was Celestia singing it, with Luna sitting annoyedly in the background. At the end of the song, she says something like, "That's it. I'm turning into Nightmare Moon".

I haven’t actually been watching the videos that you post (which is why I don’t comment on them), although I plan to eventually. (Even though they’re short, I still just haven’t gotten around to it for some reason). But the first one here sounds really good, I like the concept for it, and the song, I imagine that’ll be the first one I actually watch.
The paintings are really good!
And, about the art class, that’s great! I hope it’s helpful! I’m sure you’ll be an amazing artist someday! (Even more so than you already are, I mean)!
