Hearth's Warming Tidbit 8: Inugami · 6:40pm May 8th, 2019
So yeah, this was indeed moved to this month. I noticed barely anyone actually read this month's monthly schedule yet so I thought I would repeat myself here so no one gets lost, but to make things simple I moved this one to this month because an inugami will actually be making an appearance in the month's episode and really the one that I replaced for this month felt too early to show off just yet. Any this tidbit is indeed about the Japanese yokai dog spirit, or at least my attempts to bring it into the MLP style. I hope you enjoy this take.

Inugami, the ancient guardian of the family line. That is the simplest way to describe them but it is also the hardest way. These creatures are loyal and strong, unflinching in their duty. However their duty is often not of their choice.
They are spirits of recent or ancient death that are bound to a family line through either a promise or a curse. They take the forms of anthropomorphic dogs. They often don’t have a choice but when they do the choice can’t be changed. They are eternal as long as the family is.
They stand ready to fight off any enemy and stop any depression that targets the family line. Sometimes they do this without the family ever knowing. In fact, sometimes they family never know the existence of the mighty creatures.
