Disappointment Is Coming. · 7:59am Jun 16th, 2019
The irritating thing about "Last Crusade" that was not the inevitable thing of some right-wing nincompoop screaming One, Two, Three, Four, I declare a culture war is the fact that the writers failed to put a full stop on the completed story arc what was the Cutie Mark Crusaders saga. In the real world, it would have been held to be very sad that for now, Scootaloo lives a day's journey away and can only show up on special occasions but her parents would very much like to be there for her for what little time they have before she moves out anyway. Relationships, you see, tend to be impermanent and the kiddies kind of know this so pretending something they have experienced themselves as a tragedy does not serve them well.
The reason that I mention this is that we're heading towards another inevitable disappointment that someone else hinted at years ago when Connie Maheshwaran tried to do a fix-fic because she couldn't stand the end of her favourite book series. This is because I have the sickening feeling that we're about to get beaten over the head with a dumb moral and endure baffling and irrational decisions during the series' endgame. At some point, a character will no longer be true to herself and we're going to be told to accept that because the writers paint themselves into a corner.
