My latest anime obsession. Yuu/Touko easily beats all the canon lez ships. And I've seen a few now! They are just... sooo good.
I really hope they come out with a second season for the anime. One hasn't been announced, but it would be a shame if it didn't continue. In the meantime, I suppose I'll just have to find a way to read the manga. I'm sure it will be wonderful, but you just can't beat scenes like this. (spoilers, btw.)

But what really sets this story apart is its unique exploration of relationships. Yuu, the story's protagonist, is on the asexual spectrum. She doesn't get love or romance. She doesn't feel particularly motivated by things like hand-holding, hugs, or kisses. Even romantic gestures tend to go over her head. I read this blog by this person who really related to Yuu and found their views pretty interesting. A lot of people have a fairly rigid understanding of asexuality, but it's nice to be given a romantic story with an asexual character that breaks out of that very tiny box.
I'm also endlessly amused at seeing Yuu's exasperation with Touko.
I finished the subbed version this morning, then as soon as husbando got home I sat him down and started the dub version.
In other news, I shall be dropping my new blog fic in a bit. It's the RariTwi. It's trash, really.
