Remember the phrase "If you would consider a Santa hat"? This was started by The Descendant , beginning way back in 2012. Why? To quote the man himself, "I just want something of the fun that was present in this fandom to show up again." (Yes, people were saying that seven years ago!) Although TD hasn't been active in the fandom since 2016 or so, for those who've arrived since then: it's fair to say that he did a good deal for Fimfiction, from writing some stories that still hold up well (eg the outstanding The Railway Ponies: Highball) to welcoming newcomers to the site. I think it's nice to continue the tradition he began all those years ago. Hence my slightly adorned avatar!
