Grudge and Iron · 3:27am Jan 26th, 2020
Legends spoke, when the green men swarm the lands, all of Equis would be doomed. All of peace and harmony would be thrown into chaos, and destruction, as death swept across the lands without mercy. None, not even the Elements or the Princesses, will have the power to stop their tideless swarm and fanatical prayers to the yellow crescent moon.
That is why the God of Storms and Thunder foresaw this plight, and arranged for a way to prevent it. Instead of sending champions reforged through thunder and lightning, he sent another of his vassals. Those who knew the ways of the green men, who could combat them on the same terms, and win. Warriors who have long placed a grudge on them and the rat-like creatures that stalk the forbidden lands, and have forged wills of iron that cannot be broken.
Some call them the beard-men, some call them ancients, others have simply called them heroes. There are fire wielding berserkers, ironclade defenders, and even advance wearing skyfarers; among their numbers who claim all but one origin with many names. But, those who truly know the disposed warriors have another name for them. Dwelling within a hidden fortress, carved deep into a mountain, they wait for signs of the coming tide. Training, preparing, and mastering their craft; they shall wait for when either green men or ratfolk begin their invasion. Those who truly know them, have but one name.
