Another Top 10 Favorite Fimfiction stories! · 5:37pm Feb 8th, 2020

Hey guys, it’s me again, back with another list of ten of my favorite stories on the site.

My criteria are the same, so go check out the other list for that. If you didn’t see a story that you think should be here, it may just be on the original list.

With that being said, let’s get started!

Coming in at number ten will be Shadowlight2784’s Stars and Hearts

For those of you who don’t know, this is the story that inspired my own #1 story Romantic Meetings.

The plot is very similar; Anon meets Starlight, who falls in love with him, making Twilight very jealous. This story is short, and has many problems, but it still manages to be cute in my opinion

Number nine, this time around, will be ThePinkedWonder’s Too Many Marefriends (And Wives)

I’d thought about putting this story on the previous list, but ran out of spots. The plot here is simple: Eric Reed (Pink’s OC) is suddenly finding himself the target of attraction of the Main 6 (save for Fluttershy) and Starlight. He soon finds out that it was Discord who put a spell on him.

This story does get a little mature toward the end, but it’s still done in very good humor. This is arguably my favorite story with Eric Reed, so there’s that

Here’s an author that just had to be here. Number eight will be TheKMExperience’s A Valentine For Button

KM took the top two spots in the last list, and this won’t be the last we see of him here. This story was written, I think, for Valentine’s Day 2019 (correct me if I’m wrong, KM) and features arguably canon Button Mash in his EqG form trying to win over the heart of EqG Sweetie Belle, very awkwardly might I add.

The entire story is done in that classic KM sort of humor at its best, so I had to give it a spot

Coming in at number seven is a rather underrated and seemingly dead story: SoulAkai41’s Zero Fate

Normally, I have problems with HiE stories that either change the gender, age, or species of the human, but in this case, it works. It features Luther, aka Zero Fate, entering Equestria and trying to fit in. It’s on a bit of a hiatus, so that’s why it makes it so high on the list. That, and its so-called season 6 Starlight doesn’t really feel like she’s from season 6.

Regardless, it’s still cute and heartwarming

Number six will be ThePinkedWonder’s She Did WHAT To You?!

Pink named this as his best story, and I kinda agree with him. This story is a sequel to his similarly big hit Nopony Interrupts My FRIENDSHIP SPEECH, Starlight Glimmer and sees Chrysalis doing one of the dumbest things possible: piss Twilight off on a personal level. I don’t want to spoil too much if you haven’t read the story yourself, so the last thing I’ll say is that he does himself justice (even if the final sequel was a huge bust)

Cracking the top five is TheKMExperience’s Ham Radio Rarity

If you’ve seen the last list, you’d know I’m a huge sucker for KM’s Anonverse (even if I do like to nitpick it to death). This one-shot features the invention of ham radio in Equestria, causing Rarity to come up with a script of a murder mystery.

To sum the entire thing up, it’s got Pinkie being extra Pinkie, Anon having none of it, Starlight at the dentist, and Rarity with an awkward Q&A

My number four is MagicS’s Starlight Glimmer Makes Many Many Mistakes

Call me crazy, but I think the author of this wrote this just as a way to write a comedy story with some Glimmy shenanigans. Well, mission accomplished.

In this story, Starlight gets a bit tipsy and accidentally transports her and Spike back in time. The first half of the story is hilarious, with Glimmy causing all sorts of accidents, and the second half is epic, with Twilight, Starlight, and Spike trying to stop an alternate timeline version of Starlight. It also has an alicorn Starlight, for those of you who like that

For number three, we take a small break from the comedy with MetalandPonyFan2578’s The Town of Friendship

For those of you who like an AU where Our Town is a friendlier place with a not-evil Starlight Glimmer, this story is for you. It’s an AU where Princesses Celestia and Luna have been taken down by the tyrant Queen Lily, who then purges friendship all across Equestria. It is a bit more mature than most of these stories, but it’s very easy to look past that.

Twilight, who’s had enough of Lily, travels to a mythical town of friendship to get away from her Canterlot life, not even knowing for sure if such a town exists.

I don’t want to spoil too much of it, so go read the story for yourself if you want to see the rest.

This number two is from an author who just can’t get enough love: Peni Parker’s Twilight Tries

Oddly enough, I’ve never seen any other story like this. It has Twilight with a web series (yes, this is the same as canon Twilight) trying out random things for the first time, such as paintball, coffee, Star Wars, etc.

It doesn’t really have a continuous plot, but that really works here.

Drum roll please.

My number one this time around is...........................The Red Parade’s Mareplane!

Who’d have guessed that a spoof of a spoof would’ve been so good. I love the movie Airplane! but still came into this one not expecting much.

It blew me away with all of its self-aware comedy, random moments, and all that jazz. There’s a new joke around every turn, but it keeps from getting too repetitive nonetheless.

Basically, it feels like KM wrote this
