Something Just Occured To Me. · 7:10pm Apr 23rd, 2020
I think I just found something good in the situation we find ourselves in. The thought has been crawling on the back of my head from the start of this quarantine, but I only figured it out to the point of coherency now.
My gentle reader, have you been feeling anything unusual about the people you meet? Aren't they somehow more... familiar, easier to understand? I believe, this is what we call: "the sense of community," when you can feel the people around you being the same as you are.
In our increasingly diverse world, this is a feeling one rarely gets to experience. Amazingly enough, our common disaster may make the world a better place in the long run, for it serves not to sever the loose ties we built since the last Great War, but to strengthen them. Common struggle has a tendency to bring people together, but there is one thing that does so even quicker and stronger - common recovery.
Tch, if this goes on for a while longer, I might become an optimist.
You might be onto something there
Huh. Good point.
I think you are right. Even the simple passerby people in my community when we are having are limited time out greet one another like friends, maybe it's the desperation for minor social interaction, but despite being apart we feel a bit more together.
