10th anniversary of A Serbian Film (NSFW) · 10:15am Jun 11th, 2020
One of the most controversial art films has turned 10 years old. I watched it for the first time in March 2016 on YouTube. Believe it or not, there's a copy of that film circulating on that website.
Banned in Spain, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore, Norway, Brazil, and South Korea, this graphic film centers around porn with themes of violence, murder, necrophilia, and pedophilia.
The scenes that I find horrifying were Vukmir showing a disturbed Miloš what he calls "newborn porn", a drugged Miloš decapitates Jeca's mom whilst raping her, and Miloš raping 2 bodies that turned out to be his wife and son.
I ended up having a headache after watching it. It's an absolutely sickening film that made me realize that sex without feelings of tenderness and romance is a complete turnoff.
I am no scarred for life now

I like the film, but then I'm into a number of old exploitation films. It's interesting to see boundaries tested and taboos broken in a safe environment.

Admittedly, I watched it a few times and became somewhat desensitized due to watching a lot of horror films and seeing weird things in the Internet.

The film was conceived by director Srđan Spasojević and co-writer Aleksandar Radivojević. According to them, the film is a parody of modern politically correct films made in Serbia, which are financially supported by foreign funds. It is a political allegory designed to illustrate the plight of the Serbian people during the disintegration of Yugoslavia.
