Hey everyone.
You're probably wondering why a guy named Derrick calls himself "ArthurPaige". I'm here to clear it up.
You see, I had this idea. It was shortly after I was comfortable with being a brony, a closet brony. I wanted a character that was basically me, but not me. Don't worry, we aren't the same. A few reasons being, he only has one sister, one parent, a child, and he's a criminal. But, beyond that, we are nearly the same.
Fun fact: Arthur's name was inspired by these two words: Art, Page.
I decided early on that he was going to be a human. So, there are the basic personality traits. I thought, "Alright, so the ponies from the show have at least two colors. What should Arthur's be?" I always liked the color orange, so it would be a no-brainer to not include it somehow. Red was next, I like it, it could mean various things, the main one was anger. And white, white fit naturally into the mix.
I had the colors, I had the traits. Next came the friends. I went to each of my friends, at the time, and asked if I could make them an OC. I did. I'd like to say the characters they are now matched the actual person, but they don't. They still have certain traits that the originals had, but they were too 2D, I just had to "fine tune" them. Over time, I added to each of their characters and I created what you see now.
Now, what does this have to do with my username? I needed an alias that wouldn't give me away IRL. Not having any other ideas, I decided to honor my very first OC.
In a way, Arthur is a part of me. He always will be. Do I love him? Of course! Even though he isn't real, I'm proud of him, he's not 2D anymore.
And that is how "ArthurPaige" came to be.
