Apple Bloom: An audition script that uses Gilda's original name, Grizelda,[12] lists Apple Bloom's age as seven and gives her the description "Apple Bloom is an 'every girl'. She should sound as authentic of a child as possible. She's a little spitfire, but not a tomboy; she needs energy and presence, but enough range to play the sensitive parts." In s4 e17, the apples felt Apple Bloom was old enough to be left home alone.

Online, I found a guideline for leaving your kids home alone.
7 and under = should not be left for any period of time.
8 -10 year old = should not be left alone for more than 1 1/2 hour and only during daylight and early evening hour.
11 - 12 years old = may be left alone for up to 3 hour but not late at night.
13 - 15 years old = may be left unsupervised but not overnight.
16 - 17 years old = may be left unsupervised up two night.

The CMC enter the Applewood Derby most likely under the Masters division (age 10-20): Since the Masters division offers boys and girls, ages 10 through 20, an advanced class of racer in which to try their creativity and design skills.

In S9E22: Growing up is hard to do, the CM are not allow to ride the train by themselves which put them at 12 years old since. There is a consensus that 13 years old is a good age for a child to start travelling via train on their own. This is in line with many policies provided by train companies, which states they will not allow for children under the age of 12 to travel alone unless accompanied by an adult.

So the CMC age would be as follow:
7 years old in S1-S3
8 years old in S4
9 years old in S5
10 years old in S6
11 years old in S7
12 years old in S8-S9

Rainbow Dash: S4 E12 = Rainbow Dash celebrated her birthday and 1st year anniversary move to Ponyville.
S4 E21 = Rainbow Dash join Wonderbolt Reserve in making her age at least 18 years.
So from S1 E1 thru S4 E11 Rainbow Dash would be 17 years old since one have to be 18 year old to join the Army/Reserve in real life. the Wonderbolt/Reserve should have an 18 year minimum requirement as well. So if 10-12 years pass before s1 e1 & 2 then Rainbow Dash would be 5-7 when she got her cutie mark.

7 + 10 year = 17 year old
5 + 12 year = 17 year old.

Rainbow Dashes age would be as follow:
5-7 years old 10-12 years before S1
17 years old in S1-S3
18 years old in S4
19 years old in S5
20 years old in S6
21 years old in S7
22 years old in S8-S9

Spike: Jim Miller(source ) on his twitter page said that none of their character's age are set and their age can be whatever we decided on. His thoughts on Spikes age is as follow: 10-12 in dragon years but 16-22 in pony years. So if 10 years passed from when Twilight got her cutie-mark to the first episode then Spike would be 10-12 in dragon years but 16-22 in pony years.

10 dragon years x 1.6 aging rate = 16 pony years
12 dragon years x 1.84 aging rate = 22.08 pony years

S1E8: Look before you sleep, Spike is away in Canterlot on royal business which put at 16 years old since one have to be at least 16 to work for their government.

S3E11: Just For Sidekicks: Spike was able to board the train without a chaperone and was able to bring the CMC along.

Under federal regulations, employers may not hire a person younger than 14 to work in an office, although certain exceptions exist for family members. Office and clerical work is an allowable occupation for 14- and 15-year-olds, but work hours are severely limited. A 14- to 15-year-old employee cannot work more than three hours in a day or 18 hours a week when school is in session. • You can work up to 18 hours total in a school week and up to 10 hours in a non-school day
• You can only work between the hours of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. (except from June 1 through Labor Day, when you can work from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.)

Spike can play five musical instruments: piano, guitar, snare drum, trumpet, and double flute. It is recommended that one learn to play when they're 6 years old. It take 2-3 years to mastered an instrument. So if Spike was 6 years old when he started plus 2 years for each instrument, he would be 16 years old. 6+10(5×2)=16

S1E11: Party popped: Pinkie Pie planning her parent's 50th, 100th, and 500th wedding anniversary. Pinkie Pie doesn't throw party if the pony won't be there.

Spike was able to get on board without a chaperone because of three ponies being enough(apparently). You are right about his age though, he´s 20 by the time MLP: IDW was released, and this was before Season 9 was out so it doesn´t contradict canon. Also Spike is 7-10 years younger than Twilight in pony years according to Jim Miller, but it´s probably 7 years younger due to Twilight being in kindergarten. It’s not like it matters since Starlight´s age was never set in stone either and she is not confirmed to be older or younger than Twilight so I can age her however I want so my ship is safe regardless.

Here´s my take on the timeframe, so from what we learned each Hearths-warming Eve takes place during one year right? So I will also take those and what you said into account also.

Seasons 1-2(Pt 1): 1 year.

Season 2(Pt 2)-5: 1 year.

Season 6(Pt 1): 1 year.

Season 6(Part 2)-7: 1 year.

Season 8: 1 year.

Best Gift Ever: 1 year has clearly passed.

Season 9: 1 year.

So according to my calculations and my logic.

Spike´s age-

Seasons 1-2(Pt 1): 16

Season 2(Pt 2)-5: 17

Season 6(Pt 1): 18

Season 6(Part 2)-7: 19

Season 8: 20

Best Gift Ever: 21

Season 9: 22

Wow he´s one year older than I thought who knew? I was just winging it but my suspicions were correct, Lauren Faust could say otherwise but she left the show so her word is meaningless now.
