And Now for Something A Little Different · 4:36am Oct 1st, 2020
So, I originally planned on publishing something for the AppleDash contest that ended as we went into September, but I've hit a brick wall with that. To help break through this small bout of writers' block, I decided to go ahead and make a start rewriting some original fiction, unrelated to MLP or any other fandom. This took longer than I expected.
I was aware of a contest from a… group of niche tastes, and didn't think I'd have the time nor the energy to throw in my lot. Thanks to a conversation with the host, Shakes, however, I formulated a plot that suited my desires and rediscovered my drive to write, so over the past two days I blitzed approximately FIVE THOUSAND WORDS. That was unfathomable three months ago.
So, I know the subject matter isn't up everyone's alley, but anyone who's gone through my stories folder will no doubt have seen Seeds of Life. I'm no stranger to it. Incest isn't my kink but I'm not averse to it either, and money is money, so if I end up winning the prize of $50, I'll be happy. I'd be even more happy if people read the story and judged it based on its narrative quality, rather than the topic itself.
Major shout-out to the my good friend, Redruin, who drew the cover art for me for free. I highly recommend him if you want adorable, lewd or beautiful commissions, or a combination of all three, for a pretty damn affordable price, even for an Australian using lower-value currency. He prefers cute stuff, though, so go easy on him.
And finally, I'm not putting the featured story in many groups. I'll leave that to you or whoever has to the power to do that, simply because I don't want to be pissing anybody off when they discover this E-rated fic contains a mature discussion on the troubles an incestuous relationship might encounter. Again, not my kink, but I'm not gonna bash it either. Game of Thrones has kinda normalised it for me.
That is all, and I'm sorry if I've tarnished anyone's view of me.
I'm a mixed bag.

Well, it sound like a potentially interesting story (nor the first time I'd have read something like that, as I recall), and I don't look down on you for writing it. :)
Pretty much all of my current aversion to giving it a try comes from the length of the list of other things I have to do today, rather than its content -- and this story is short enough it stands a good chance of getting in anyway, I think. :)
