...And a Happy New Year!

When people realize that 2020 is still around for a couple more hours:

Let's not kid ourselves, this has been a shitty year to dwarf all shitty years. Even 2016 can't compare. A worldwide pandemic that has killed millions, a massive economic meltdown unheard of since the Great Depression, and worsening political situations all across the globe....

It certainly has been a ordeal for me... It started well, but between election stress, all-online classes, and the difficulties of lockdowns, it's been stressful like almost nothing else. 2020, you can go rot in hell for all you've put us through, you horrible abomination of a year...

But there is a light in the darkness. A vaccine has been developed at long last, the situation in America isn't actively worsening, and the economy will slowly recover. And amid all this, there is joy to be had as well. This has been one of my most productive years easily, with so much getting down and taken care of. I've discovered and re-read some great stories this that I never would have found before; all thanks to coming back to this website on a regular basis at long last. And not only that, but I've also met wonderful people here as well, who have continued to be a highlight.

Despite the hardships, this has also been a year of hard-fought positive change as well, where I and many others some things that were going wrong, both in our personal lives and in our societies. They do say that hindsight is 2020 after all.

So hopefully 2021 will break the curse, and be a year of continued progress and renewal. Happy New Year everyone!
