Godzilla vs. Kong Official Trailer 1 · 6:20pm Jan 24th, 2021

YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This was everything I could've hoped for and more. Absolutely incredible trailer, and definitely worth the wait.

By the looks of it, something new is attacking the world (Godzilla... or something else?) and Monarch is getting Kong to fight it or Godzilla. We have our conflict and we have our mystery. Godzilla is on the rampage and no one knows why. More history with the Titans, gotta love it. Kong pulling off some moves on the Big G. That axe tho!

Cannot wait for this film. These two months are gonna drag on. I highly recommend going out to theaters to watch this film. Godzilla films NEED to be experienced on the big screen. Overall, fantastic first trailer. What were all your thoughts?

Heck yeah! That was truly awesome! I would definitely watch this film, if it weren't for the situation in the world. I've been waiting for so long since Godzilla came back to the cinema.

It was nothing but amazing, Prime. Thanks for sharing the trailer. I needed it the most to view it and expect a good fight between the two giants. I am a huge monster fan, and this just shows beyond words on how epic this fight will be once it arrives on the screen.

It will be the most greatest monster battle in the century. I know that for sure.

The battle of Titans has begun...! But question is: Who will rise? Who will fall? Godzilla or Kong?

Unfortunately as much as I’d like to see this in theaters, I’m one, not wanting to risk my own health, and two, don’t have any movie theaters close to me.

So I’ll be patiently waiting for the next two months to watch this in my super comfy home. Fortunately Disney+’s MCU releases, and the second half of RWBY volume 8 should more then help pass the time.

I have so many questions, and my hype levels are through the roof.

I am totally seeing this in theaters, I don't care if I have to go to it in a hazmat suit!

Godzilla vs Kong is half the reason I have been investing in a home theater setup. Projector and all. I can't freaking wait!

Think you might include these elements for your project?

5441344 Maybe for a sequel. :ajsmug:

5441312 I'm hoping for a battle unlike any other. :yay:

5441313 #TeamGodzilla

5441321 Same!

5441323 Damn, nice! Would love to set up a home theater myself once I get my own place!

Holy mother of Sasquatch!
I kinda don't like how one has to be the good guy (Kong in this case), but the trailer seems to imply that Godzilla isn't just randomly turning evil. Something has to be making him go crazy, considering he saved the world twice in two movies.
Place your bets, folks! Personally, my money's on the lizard.

Oh My God(Zilla) This is Fucking Epic!

#TeamGodzilla for the win Bitches!

the hype train is fully loaded and has a full head of steam. been waiting for this for far to long!

i'm hoping we will seea return of gidorah. remember, there is still one head unaccounted for

Also i notice Mechagodzilla at the start when the people is running.

59 years in the making, and holy emperor of mankind, this movie is not gonna disappoint!

Definitely looking forward to when the movie drops!

l am so hyped for this movie.... but l am going to be so PISSED if the big G looses

Seems like it with the battle ax.
Still Team Godzilla lol.
I have rewatched the trailer 75 times already

Personal theory is every time were seeing Godzilla act evil it's actually just MechaGodzilla in a skin suit like in Godzilla Vs. MechaGodzilla or some type of hologram to make him look like the Big G so who ever built MechaG can soil Big G's name. I also think that the first fight on the aircraft carrier is actually a MechaG Vs. Kong fight not a GVK fight.

5441363 Something else is definitely going on behind the scenes. Regardless, I'm always on Team Godzilla. :pinkiecrazy:

5441375 That is very true! :ajsmug:

5441445 59 years in the making... :pinkiegasp:

5441467 I'd be fine with it if they did it right.

5441548 All the clues point to it. Also, possible spoilers.

This brings all theroies to connect. This trailer got me highten for hopes. Cant wait for fics to cross an epic battle royal.

I'm really looking forward to this movie!
#TeamGodzilla

If there's a couple things to note about Godzilla or Gojira or whichever you prefer to call him, people mistakenly make the assumption he's a hero or a villain. But the reality of the matter is that Godzilla is not so much about picking sides. He is a force of nature, and like a force of nature, wherever he goes there is always destruction in its path whether he means for it or not. But when that force of nature starts to get out of control, if not acted upon then lives are guaranteed to be in harm's way.

However, that should not discourage fans to interpret Godzilla's actions as a hero or villain or both. It really depends on the measure of the story itself.

It was not the airplanes, it was two titanic beasts battling each other to the death!

A little late (I mean, would it really be me if I weren't late for everything ?) but I still have a thing or two that I'd enjoy to say about the trailer.

That trailer really was great. It basically was everything that I would have hopped it to be: great action scenes shown, minor plot development but not a single major spoiler except maybe a little surprise at two moments of it which I'll cover shortly later and extremely good CGI and shots (that aircraft carrier scene is superb).

Only thing I may have liked done differently was the music for the second part of the music. Generic rap songs really don't fit the universe of Godzilla and/or Kong, this is almost like when Bethesda made one of Doom Eternal's adds/trailers have rap in it. But except this time the trailer itself made up for it by being absolutely beautiful.

As for the content of the trailer itself, well I already spoke a little about it before but it was magnificent: we got action (LORD, that last scene was GREAT, especially since it reminds me off Pacific Rim's Hong Kong showdown and Pacific Rim is my favorite movie after all) and we got basic plot development with them telling us that Godzilla isn't acting as usual (as if a giant 120m fire breathing lizard could act usually) and that Kong is "their last hope".

And most importantly, we got some Mecha Godzilla ! It was also perfectly done in that there was only a single shot were you could see it (right at the start) and anyone skimming over the trailer or not familiar with the series would have missed it, there's also another shot were you could see its silhouette behind a dude on a screen which follows the same rules as the first one (tho this one is more visible).

Those two shots along with the trailer itself are great IMO because instead of being blatant spoilers for the movie (Mecha G was already really plausible for the movie due to the toy leaks anyway, they just played along with the trailer) they made it so Mecha G's appearance is only minor and only raises more questions.

This could also raise a whole plot theory in that it isn't actually Godzilla which is wrecking havoc but Mecha Godzilla disguised as Godzilla (like its first appearance in Showa Era) but given the more "realistic" tone of MV Era, this is a Theory that I'm still not 100% in accord with even if it is plausible (this would also explain why in some shots, Godzilla has a differently pitched roar and his plates shine in a strange way).
But either way, the way they included Mecha G is just really well done in this trailer, now here's me hopping they don't waste it with the future trailers.

Another thing I noticed (which is pretty obvious but still) is that the trailer really puts Kong in the spotlight, now this could be because of a few reasons. Either the trailers are going to follow the movie's theme in that 1 will focus on Kong (the one we have) and that another will focus on Godzilla (the one we don't have) or they could simply pull the secret card and simply avoid putting Godzilla in the spotlight as much as possible (this would reinforce the Mecha G theory from before) for a certain reason.
IMO it doesn't matter which road they take as long as they don't waste the suspense of the big plot twists of the movie (like the second KOTM trailer did with Thermonuclear Godzilla) because then it would be a real waste.

And I realize that this comment is extremely long now so I'll conclude now. Overall the trailer really sets up for a good movie and is done in a way that only makes us want to see the movie more which is everything a trailer could ask for, I just hope they won't waste it with the future one(s) like a lot of movies do today by showing everything the movie has to offer before it even releases.

Oh and obviously, #TeamGodzilla.

What if that's not Godzilla but Mechagodzilla in disguise like in Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla and the ecoterrorist guys used Ghidora's head to recreate kaiju skin.
