This is good to know (have confirmed), but what confuses ME is what Princess Twilight's role is going to be in Gen5, given that Tara, her VA, point-blank said that she (Twilight) would NOT be returning in the new series, as Tara herself, along with Ashleigh (AJ and Rainbow's VA) wouldn't be, as she wanted to concentrate on her band and music.
Not sure about Andrea, Cathy, Peter or any of the other voice cast that we know and love, but I know that Tara and Ashleigh aren't for sure.
But we'll see how things go, I guess.

According to the news from a few months back, the Mane Six will be in the new show, but they will only have cameos. So they will not have any speaking roles anymore.
I am also a little clueless about Twilight's role in the show. As the ruler of Equestria, she has to be there somehow. But I can hardly imagine they would get a different VA for her considering how everyone loves that Tara Strong is voicing her. I am curious how they will go about avoiding to have her in a bigger role in the show.
There are big mysteries here now with this news and I can't wait to pick it all apart and analyze it. I'm going to do that before Hasbro's virtual Toy Fair event happens at the end of February. That's when likely the next big news will come in.
And the movie release date is very good to know, though, it has been dropped previously already. We know this for a while now.

Hmm, I think Toy Fair is an event where only journalists are let in. But I could be mistaken, I only ever paid attention to the new pony merch announcements that came out of it, so I don't know anything about the convention. It will be best to google for that.

I don't mind discussing the theme of Generation 5 here and most of everyone is still welcome to do that, be their feelings about it good or bad. But I have seen how aggressively and even hysterically you reacted when people in the Writer's Group thread about the first, solid Generation 5 infos objected you as you talked about Twilight's ascension.
I have no reason to believe that you wouldn't react in the same way while discussing the theme of Generation 5 and those are vibes I don't want to have under this happy blog entry. So, in your case, please don't try to discuss the subject here.
There is, however, still a chance for you to discuss the theme of Generation 5 in the Writer's Group thread. I can talk with you about it there, if you want.
